It’s so sad how in the US, people that wanted to improve their lives by way of higher education were ultimately scammed. All these corporations masquerading as higherED schools/programs. Our country is rotting from capitalism
@StatisticUrban When I moved to the EC from the WC, the population density of neighborhoods and streets was a bit of a culture shock. Like driveways and yards aren’t a thing on the EC like they are on the WC
@HPotoure@PopCrave@people One plastic surgeon said “fat acts as a venetian mask against aging, and once you remove that mask, the skin’s natural age shows”… and it can take facial skin anywhere from 1-2yrs to rebound from sudden fat loss too
@giveashitnature In the PNW sure but in the Midwest didn’t they put dams on the Missouri and Mississippi rivers to keep the communities from being flooded out every year? Wouldn’t that flooding return? (The attached pic shows how it used to be, but argues to reduce dams for NOLA delta benefits)
“The students who cannot read a 20-page article today are the voters who will not be able to read a bill, or the jurors who cannot follow a closing argument, tomorrow.”
I'm tired of boomers demanding that social programs be cut or reduced for the younger generations while demanding they be expanded for theirs. Like don't tell us to save millions for retirement, when your generation had the pensions, unions, lower cost of living, & saved nothing
@douwuata Honestly acknowledging the consequences of not taking action has worked best for me. As in, if I don’t make it to xyz on time, the cons are incredibly serious. If I don’t get abc done by this date, the cons are severe & simply not worth the extra work to correct the missed Dline
I find it interesting that the bar has been raised from 10k steps a day to now 15k steps a day… all the fitspo girlies on IG are claiming you need to do 15k per day, when there hasn’t been any new evidence presented as to why that’s now the target
@DonMiami3@VladTheInflator Top 10% of wealth holders account for 50% of consumer spending as of ~a year ago, maybe it was 6mos ago when the report came out?
@bikelakecity Whenever I see vechicles parked on sidewalks or blocking them, I immediately think “how can someone in a wheelchair get past?” And then I think “do others not consider this possibility when they park?” Like… am I weird for thinking about the mobility of others? Idk
@OgLakyn Have you used Nordstrom’s tailoring services? Or do you use a local mom & pop shop? And is there any set standard for pricing? Like “a pant hemming should be $15 per pair, so if a place charges $45 it’s a scam”
