Last night I wrote the chapter that leads into the climax of my book. With that, I realized I am probably going to finish writing this. This is the closest I’ve ever been to the end with writing a novel.

I always think of Robert Frost as this American poet, from an era long past, but in reality, he used to read at my grandmother-in-law’s college, so it really wasn’t that long ago.
Kids are out of town with their grandparents.
I wrote 1000+ words tonight. The most I’ve written in one sitting in ???
I wonder if the two are related.

@McNeilAuthor Nah, my next book idea is my son looking over at this scraggly tree in the field and going “That tree wasn’t there before.” And I’m not sure he’s wrong.
But maybe his mom will be Myrtlebelle.
Real life is weird. I just found out my husband’s great-great grandmother was orphaned after the Chicago Fire, her biological parents were circus folk, and she was named Myrtlebelle. Honestly, I find the name the most unbelievable part.
I have written every day for the last 16 days, even while up here in the mountains, and in that time, I’ve managed to write over 11,000 words, almost all of which are on the novel.
Go me.
Here’s a cat. #notmycat
