This morning I asked Axios Pro Rata readers from Minnesota to share their thoughts on how the situation there has impacted their lives and jobs. This one stuck with me, from Nick:
"My younger sister is an American citizen adopted from Central America when she was 18 months old. She is now like any young adult with their first career job.
A few weeks ago, ICE was seen a few doors down from her place of employment as they were 'investigating' employees of a fast-food restaurant. This was a frightening experience for her (she ended up locking the front door, turning off lights, etc. to hide out and had no run in with ICE, thankfully).
Because of this experience, my family and her boyfriend now take turns driving her to and from work in case ICE is in the area. She now also carries her passport with her when she leaves the house
Additionally, my sister recently told my fiancée this is the first time she’s ever felt truly different from our family."
"Instead of spending the majority of our time on self-promotion, perhaps more of us could be focusing on finding ways to form solidarity among artists or among disciplines,"
Yes, yes, yes.
Late to posting about it, but can't stop thinking about this (typically) excellent @rebexxxxa essay on the nightmare of trying to make it in this world right now. https://t.co/keziAmxNWG

Taking a break from saying nothing on Twitter to say to my devoted followers...go and see #LeoGrandeFilm! It's got everything you could possibly want and more. And it's written by my clever sister @KatyFBrand! Out today.
Tom Hanks on Springwatch: “Can we just say how great the BBC is? You’re not going to get that in the United States.”
He’s right, you know. British TV every day is some of the best in the world.
This is the grave of my great grandmother, Eva Cowan Waskow, who died of complications from an illegal abortion in 1914 in Washington, DC, at age 35. 💔
