There was a ton of talk about getting Skubal in to start recruiting him early; why not the same for Holmes?

He's an ideal fit for the makeup of the Cubs roster, and he's old enough (33) he's not gonna get some mega deal in free agency.

He's been in AAA most recently for Miami, though. I do wonder if the Cubs will keep him down there for now and expect him to be in the rotation next year.

@jeremydelby @CubsZone I don't understand why people keep suggesting his name. Why on earth would the Blue Jays trade him in the first year of his deal? They just made a buy trade to bring in Soriano. Clearly they're still looking to be good in 2027+, and trading Cease does nothing to help that.
