@deerhoof Licensing to brands is one of the only ways to make good money as a composer anymore. I wonder if Songtradr is going to find some way of exploiting the massive collection of un-copyrighted music sitting on bandcamp servers to brands and networks.
@frankiekella @lilaaron911 "the artist shouldn't have more than the people behind the scenes..." hmmm they shouldn't get the lions share since it's their art?

This is an all-timer album for me and the only LP's are $350 from Brazil. Could I buy a copy and pay for a repressing? How do re-issues work... legally?
@lightintheattic@awesometapes how do y'all do that? Can you just press this one for me 😁
btw I'm no exception to this rule, I left the Denton, TX scene to come to Seattle right when we had a beautiful music community blossoming that was starting to get national attention. Often I wonder what life and the scene there would be like if my band stayed.
9 years I've lived here, I've seen many of the most talented musicians complain about Seattle's scene not being supportive/cool enough, so they move to LA/NY. I get that, but if all the talent is constantly moving away, the scene will never get good! #bloomwhereyoureplanted
Trying to play music and book/promote shows for myself can be so humbling.. embarrassing. I'm about to be 31 and I just asked someone to put in a good word for me to a college kid so that's where I'm at!
I have tried, but I just can't seem to care about or remember holidays, birthdays, anniversaries. I love my friends, my family, but idk I live in the moment!
Tech needed in 2023 to get your passport renewed: a paper printer, a camera, a photo printer, a checkbook, $160, postage stamps. All things literally no one has anymore.
