Eagles Rams commercial break…
Is this even legal? Our tax dollars paying for an ad for someone not even running?
Oh yeah but F socialism unless government money is used for one ego.
@Bighugh53 What is insane is that over 2 decades 2 missing women from the area were both connected to that dude and that house and nothing came of that? It takes the strung-out son being pulled over with a missing woman’s license in the car to get them looking that way?
@JamieBonkiewicz School nurses can barely give kids Tylenol anymore let alone the teachers. They wouldn’t store pepto bismol tablets in the office for one of my kids who was having some stomach issues…
Simon Benoit just coasted back for the puck, stood with it, and shoveled a lazy backhand clearance attempt that was about 6mph and was picked off…ultimately resulting in a Pens power play. First 3 minutes I’ve seen this year and I would cut that guy at intermission.
@jaysbookman@R_JonAnderson The mistake Republicans are making is that Jack Smith has stood up to government criminals that have intelligence. This group for Smith would be like him prosecuting a third grade candy stealing ring at a grade school.
@CogginToboggan My man wasn’t alive for the Brad Daugherty/Moses Malone/Roy Hinson/Cliff Robinson/Jeff Ruland day which started while we all slept.
And there was a day in November 2022 when the Phillies and Union both lost the championship within hours of each other.
@travisakers I think he knew it was probably bullshit - he held the card up just long enough to see the 3 pictures photoshopped in (because that’s so professional) but not read the messages, then he tried to not show it again.
So he’s possibly incompetent but more likely a lying “dirtbag”
@Eric_Schmitt Presidenting While Black - what a terrible thing to do.
You literally lick the boots of a fraud con man who can’t send out a holiday message to the nation without pointing out how much he hates half of this country.
@travisakers@mattvanswol I want to know which “isle” he walked on next. Maybe that was the gift to his son - from Walmart Lego aisle to French Polynesia or the Caribbean!
@travisakers@MalcolmNance Does anyone else think that the non-millionaire+ trump supporters will go full Marie Antoinette if they ever, ever figure out that they are to the politicians they leg hump what brown and black people are to them?
We have not seen a caravan headed to the U.S. southern border in several years, why now?
Oh yeah, there is an election coming and the GOP needs to scare you into voting because nothing else is working.
Bill Giles, Phillies chairman emeritus and long-time club executive, passed away at his home in Gladwyne, Pa., this afternoon. He was 92 years old.
Known for his immense contributions to the Phillies, City of Philadelphia and Major League Baseball, Giles began his Phillies career in 1969 as vice president, business operations, and was promoted to executive vice president three years later. In 1981, he organized a group that purchased the club, serving as president until 1997 and then chairman before being named chairman emeritus in 2015.
Giles was instrumental in opening Veterans Stadium, and later Citizens Bank Park, drawing fans with clever marketing ideas, including the creation of the legendary Phillie Phanatic. He expertly balanced the business and baseball needs of the club, which won two National League East titles and National League pennants during his time as president.
As one of Philadelphia’s more civically involved citizens, Giles served on several boards for various organizations, some of which included the Philadelphia Convention and Tourism Bureau, Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Philadelphia Sports Congress, Police Athletic League and Salvation Army. He was also a past president of the Boy Scouts of America and Corporate Alliance for Drug Education.
Giles, the son of former National League president Warren C. Giles, was named honorary president of the NL in 2001 and was a recipient of the Bud Selig Executive Leadership Award for lifetime achievement in baseball in 2010. He was part of a council that expanded the league to 30 teams, incorporated interleague play and re-structured the playoff format with a wild card slot, among other significant contributions.
Born in Rochester, N.Y., in 1934, Giles began his baseball career as a teenager working various jobs in the Cincinnati Reds’ public relations department. He went on to advance his career in Houston, serving as traveling secretary, publicity director and promotions director before joining the Phillies following the 1969 season.
Reflecting on his life in the game, Giles authored the book Pouring Six Beers at a Time: And Other Stories from a Lifetime in Baseball and co-authored another on the business of baseball, titled Bill Giles and Baseball. In 1999, the Phillies established the Bill Giles Award to honor minor league players who share the same attributes as the namesake: a love and respect for the game of baseball, an outstanding work ethic and pride in being a member of the Phillies organization.
Giles was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, and is survived by his three sons, Michael, Joseph and Christopher, and eight grandchildren, Lowell, Will, Caroline, Dana, Molly, Max, Eliza and Warren.
Details on funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
