First, thank you so much for following JML Scanner 716 and supporting this page. I really appreciate everyone who follows along for local fire, crash, weather, traffic and breaking news updates across Buffalo and Western New York.

I do want to say something, though. I am not a professional news organization, meteorologist, dispatcher or reporter. I’m simply doing the best I can with the information I hear and find.

I don’t have $10,000 worth of equipment or a large team working behind the scenes. I have a few radios, my phone, social media and myself. That’s it.

Because of that, information may occasionally be incomplete, delayed or incorrect. If I learn that something I posted was wrong, I will do my best to correct it as soon as I can. I’m only one person, and I post updates when I’m available and when I can get reliable enough information.

I know this page won’t be for everyone, and that’s completely fine. If you don’t like the way I post or cover things, you’re always free not to follow. But please remember there is a real person behind this page. Comments meant only to insult or put someone down, such as calling this “the worst weather” coverage, aren’t helpful.

I’m not perfect. Nobody is. I’m simply trying to provide another place for people in our community to stay informed.
