I’m with dude on this one. If I’m Rocky, I’m not losing sleep over those bars. Drake can throw all the disses he wants, but Rocky’s already living the life Drake seemed to want, he’s with Rihanna, they’ve got a family together, and he’s focused on his own lane. Hard to feel attacked when you’re already winning where it matters most. It’s been years. Rihanna made her choice, everybody moved on, and life kept going. If I’m Rocky, I hear the bars, maybe laugh, and get back to my family. Some things are bigger than rap beef.
I was just Thinking… im old enough to remember that the 1980s drug game almost destroyed Sports as we know it .. as with the Black Community in the USA and others …. Ironically RAP and HipHop Attacked it vehemently. Aggressively. The corporations bought Rap and embraced it in the 1990s . Ironic
Aint this some sht ?
You got a track record being passive aggressive so let’s not act like people are reaching. From the little slick remarks you made about his stadium tour (how you don’t think he could of did without SZA even though the Latin American and Europe leg of the tour was 100% solo and sold out) to the unnecessarily downplaying of his Super Bowl performance to uplift Bad Bunny’s. Even if you’re well-intentioned here, your track record is shaky and people are looking at that. He don’t have to be your favorite personally (no one cares) but you do work in media so you do have a responsibility to not let your personal bias cloud your judgement when speaking on hip hop or the entire platform loses credibility.
New York Knick player and NBA champion Mikal bridges was listening to Kendrick Lamar’s Mr morale & The Big Steppers on his ig live
Mikal also talked about how he was depressed in 2022 and how Kendrick’s music helped him get out of that depression.
“I was depressed and this fucking album got me through it, I will never forget it” ❤️
Angela Reese paid off her mother’s mortgage on her birthday and retired her from work, calling it a ‘dream come true,’ as that was her biggest goal in life 👏🏾💯
Juneteenth is not “Black diaspora day.”
It commemorates a specific historical event that happened to a specific people in a specific country.
Why is that controversial to say?
@ComplexMusic This is probably one of the coldest takes ever and the interviewer playing dumb like he’s shocked. It’s like how dare he say Kendrick Lamar after all of the OVO propaganda @Complex be running daily lol
If you’re DJing on Juneteenth, you better do your homework & put on a show. Black Americans created too many genres for yall to be playing mainstream Hip Hop and R&B all day. I better hear Gospel before I hear Afrobeats. Disco, Funk, House, Go-Go, Bounce, Hyphy. DO YOUR JOB, DJ!!
Or you can just enjoy Drake music without making up lies about Kendrick. You don’t have to be a Kendrick fan personally (I promise you no one cares), but to act like he’s not a global superstar is just disingenuous especially when he’s accomplished things overseas you’re boy simply has not accomplished. It’s not my opinion, these are just facts. And btw, it goes both ways. Drake’s legacy now IS that L he took in 2024. That’s how most casuals who aren’t his fans will remember him decades from now. Don’t be mad at me, I’m just the messenger
Uh oh👀 the saxophone solo is getting loud
Looks like Charlamagne is applying pressure to AkademiksTV. He has him on audio panicking & being concerned that his house is going to be invaded. Akademiks & AkademiksTV are the loudest voices behind the Roc Nation/TDE conspiracies.
This is a take by someone who’s perpetually online. Kendrick Lamar has one of the greatest discographies of all time not just in hip hop, but music in general (with TWO albums that are consistently ranked among the greatest albums of all time regardless of genre). Online chatter over the last two years can’t erase that legacy in the real world. There’s literally universities all over the country that have courses about his catalog, and Drake or that battle is not being brought up once. And btw, let’s say it is true, you’re acting like it’s not other way around too. Drake’s legacy now IS that L he took in that battle. You can’t find a conversation about Drake online over the last two years where people don’t bring up Kendrick in some shape or form.
I like that after all these claims about it not being about race, Metcalfs dad immediately confirmed it was always about race, the second the trial was over
