@UKVIgovuk How can a dual national abroad currently waiting for their British passport enter the UK if the trip takes place before the passport arrives? Currently seems like they can't even enter their own country of citizenship. Absolutely absurd and shameful.
So how can I get in touch with @RoyalMail@RoyalMailHelp to actually speak to somebody? Hours spent sifting through contact pages designed to keep us away from speaking on the phone...
Zildjian, founded in 1623 by Armenian alchemist Avedis Zildjian in Constantinople, is one of the world’s oldest companies. Avedis developed a secret alloy of copper, tin, and silver that produced rich, durable cymbals.
In 1909 Avedis III Zildjian presented himself to the immigration officials on Ellis Island, New York. As an Armenian, he had seized the opportunity to leave Istanbul to avoid persecution and genocide.
In 1929, Avedis III moved the company to U.S., where it became a staple in jazz, rock, and classical music, used by famous drummers like Gene Krupa and Ringo Starr. Still family-owned, Zildjian remains central to its global reputation for quality.

“Academic journals are a lucrative scam – and we’re determined to change that: Giant publishers are bleeding universities dry, with profit margins that rival Google’s. So we decided to start our own”: https://t.co/6DG4MZjoyq
Just out: my long paper on the breakdown of Armenia’s 🇦🇲relationship with Russia, it’s continuing dependencies and connections, especially in the economic and energy sphere — and what lies ahead https://t.co/mlZsS2IX6w
My article on Russia and the South Caucasus for @ForeignAffairs. Lots to say but a big theme is this: because of the Ukraine war and sanctions “economic security in the South Caucasus—for now at least—is more important than the hard variety.” https://t.co/nq3A8afygt

Boris Skossyreff, 'King of Andorra'.
In May 1934, a mysterious monocled man who had fled the former Russian Empire declared himself King of Andorra, and proposed a programme of reforms for the principality.
Why Andorra? Why then?
