Trials test the strength of our faith; wean us from earthly things; call us to eternal hope; reveal who we love; teach us to value God's blessing; enable us to help others; produce endurance, which equips us for greater usefulness; and mostly trials humble us.
The resurrection is the pivot on which all of Christianity turns and without which none of the other truths would much matter. Without the resurrection, Christianity would be so much wishful thinking, taking its place alongside all other human philosophy & religious speculation.
When believers are compelled by love for God, feel deep hatred for sin, reject the world, long for Christ's return, love other Christians, experience answered prayer, discern between truth and error, and long for Christlikeness, the work of the Spirit is evidenced.
