Guarded Multisig is a new @RialoHQ demo, showing how multisig wallets can be more secured.

Traditional multisig wallets only check signatures, so if the right signers have approved, the valid transactions can take place. They can’t check live prices, send alerts, request further password confirmation or check for potentially malicious behavior. This was part of the flaw in the Drift hack. The attacker received valid authorisations, so the multisig accepted the malicious actions.

Rialo enables you to add this functionality with Guarded Multisig, which can utilize.

the live API data, private calculation, and automated on chain actions.

This means a multisig can:

Send alerts when a risky action is proposed
Ask for MFA or an OTP before large transfers
Check the real dollar value of a transfer using live prices
Add timelocks so dangerous changes cannot happen instantly

A multisig should be more than a “signature checker.” It should have the ability to be smart enough to recognize risk and mitigate dangerous actions through some type of delay.

In summary, Guarded Multisig makes treasury security proactive, intelligent, and difficult to attack. It uses Rialo’s built-in web calls, private computation of REX, and conditional transaction capabilities to power its functionality.
