I am deeply saddened & devastated by the brutal and senseless killing of Rev. Fr. Alios Cheruiyot, who was gunned down by bandits.
May his soul eternally rest, and may God surround his family, congregation & all who knew him with strength and consolation during this painful time
My thoughts & prayers are with him & his family during this difficult time. I wish him a full and swift recovery. I extend my heartfelt sympathies to families affected by this senseless violence. We remain steadfast in our collective efforts to pursue lasting peace.
Today, I had the opportunity to visit one of our own from Chemoe, Tuluk in Bartabwa Ward, who is currently undergoing treatment at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) after sustaining injuries in a recent bandit attack attributed to Pokot assailants.
Calling for security & justice is not hate speech; it is my duty as their elected leader. I did not, & will never, call for violence against any community, including our neighbors in Tiaty. Anyone twisting my words is doing so for political gain.
Let me be clear: at no point did I incite anyone to violence. My message was simple—I was speaking up for the safety and dignity of my people who have suffered repeated attacks.
Joseph Makilap: I am the number one target for the bandits from Tiaty. They want to kill me. Because of that, I have decided to organize my people. Lazima tumwage damu.
I urge the investigative agencies to move with urgency and utmost thoroughness to uncover the truth and ensure that those responsible are swiftly brought to justice. Such a loss cannot go unanswered. I send my heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon.
Poleni sana!
Following the shocking and tragic shooting of Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were last evening, my colleague at the National Assembly, I stand in deep sorrow and solidarity with his family, friends, and constituents.
This heinous act has not only robbed the Kasipul community of their representative but also shaken the entire nation. It is a grave attack on our democratic institutions and the safety of those elected to serve the public.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his legacy of leadership, dedication, and unwavering service to the people.
May his soul rest in eternal peace
