READ: Senator Robin Padilla’s office releases an official statement saying political officer and former actress Nadia Montenegro was asked to take a leave of absence on Aug. 13, after media reports linked her to alleged marijuana use.

Montenegro denied the allegation in an incident report from the Senate Office of the Sergeant at Arms.

Padilla’s office gave her until Aug. 19 to submit a written explanation. She will remain on leave pending the investigation, said Padilla’s chief of staff, Rudolf Jurado | @eimorpsantos
