Challenge Accepted! Gibson of North Augusta, South Carolina has stepped up to make a difference and accepting our 50 yard challenge , committing to mow 50 free yards for those in need in his community. This is what it’s all about. Welcome to the family, Gibson!
SOUTH SHORE, WHAT I SAW
I recently visited the South Shore community and spoke with citizens and small business owners about their concerns.
I walked blocks of abandoned businesses and vacant buildings around 71st & Merrill and 71st & Clyde.
This is personal to me. I grew up near 68th & Paxton, and I remember when these streets were full of thriving businesses, families shopping, and a strong sense of community.
To see it looking like this today is heartbreaking. This is what Democratic policies have produced while claiming to create an affordable Chicago.
THE PROBLEM
The business owners we spoke with said they are barely holding on because of:
• High property taxes
• Crime and retail theft
• Inflation
• Rising operating costs
• Excessive regulations
Unfortunately, this is not just a South Shore problem. Communities across Chicago are facing the same challenges.
WHAT I WOULD DO AS MAYOR
My administration would implement a Small Business Recovery & Relief Plan focused on.
• Property tax relief for struggling small businesses and grants to help them stay in business
• Cutting unnecessary regulations and fees
• Streamlining permits and licensing
• Making it easier to open and operate businesses in Chicago
PUBLIC SAFETY FIRST
Businesses cannot thrive without safety.
My administration would:
• Increase police presence in business corridors
• Crack down on retail theft, vandalism, and repeat offenders by locking them up and keeping them there
• Restore order in commercial districts
• Help business owners focus on growing their businesses instead of worrying about crime
ACCOUNTABILITY FOR YOUR TAX DOLLARS
I will launch forensic audits to track where taxpayer dollars are going.
Citizens deserve to know:
• How their money is being spent
• Whether resources are reaching the communities they were intended to help
• Why some neighborhoods continue to be left behind
Every community deserves investment, opportunity, and a seat at the table.
REVITALIZING SOUTH SHORE
My administration will work to:
• Allow citizens to invest in and own businesses within their own communities
• Revitalize commercial corridors like 71st Street
• Fill vacant storefronts
• Attract new businesses
• Support existing business owners
• Create jobs for local citizens
I will also meet regularly with citizens in every ward to ensure their voices are heard and that aldermen are using community resources effectively.
South Shore Citizens does not have to live like this.
Chicago does not have to live like this.
We can bring our neighborhoods back, support our small businesses, improve public safety, and restore pride in our communities.
That's the future I'm fighting for, and that's why I'm running for Mayor of Chicago.

Straight from the mouth of the citizens. "I hate that man Brandon Johnson" .
A well-known and respected community member, and co-owner of the popular Chemistry restaurant, was tragically killed along with another individual. In addition, seven people were shot in this senseless act of violence.
I went to the scene of the mass shooting on 51st and Wood to speak directly with the citizens and hear their concerns.
The community was eager to talk, and it was meaningful to show them that someone cares. I wanted them to know that I’m committed to listening and taking action to provide the resources our neighborhoods need to thrive.
By addressing violence and supporting our communities, we can help restore safety and opportunity in Chicago. Hearing directly from the citizens was powerful, and I deeply appreciate their openness and trust.
I'm giving the citizens back their voice and letting them speak for themselves.

I am incredibly blessed.
I have struggles and my life isn’t perfect but I thank God for the life that He gave me.
God has blessed me greatly and I want to be an inspiration to others. God never gave up on me. He won’t ever give up on you, either.

Today is my Freedomversary.
Eight years ago, President Trump granted me clemency and gave me a second chance at life. After nearly 22 years in prison, I walked out the gates and into a future I had prayed for but could no longer see.
I will never forget that moment.
Prison took many things from me, including years with my family and the loss of my parents and a son. But I never lost hope or faith that my life still had purpose.
The gift of freedom came with a responsibility: to help others.
Over the last eight years, I’ve advocated for second chances, supported criminal justice reform, and now serve as White House Pardon Czar.
From a prison cell to the White House, this journey has been possible through God’s grace and President Trump’s courage.
Every day, I strive to honor that gift by helping others find hope and a path forward.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for me, believed in me, and supported me along the way.
And to God be the glory.
🙏🏽❤️ #Freedomversary
Going to bed soon but I want to say this - no matter what you may struggle with or what disabilities you may have, you were made in God’s image.
Your life is very valuable. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
God created you, and He doesn’t make mistakes.
Good night and God bless. I love you all! ❤️
Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nation’s capital? I’d also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. 🇺🇸
Parents, if your unborn child has been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome or any genetic disorder, please choose life.
Don’t deprive the world of the joy of a human being with special needs. They need love, too.
Love you all! ❤️
My name is Renatta, I’m 45 years old, and I have a genetic condition.
Yes, I have some struggles, but I still live a full, productive, and joyful life.
Parents, if your unborn child is diagnosed with a genetic disorder, it isn’t a curse. Please give your child a chance at life. Their life won’t be perfect, but no one’s is. Let your child be a blessing to you and to others. Don’t throw away what God has given you.
True Chicagoans lets fight, and take our city back, it belongs to you.
Guys, remember when Chicago felt normal?
When kids could ride their bikes outside until the streetlights came on.
When parents didn’t have to fear their children being shot or killed. When families could afford to live here, enjoy their neighborhoods, and feel safe in their own city.
We can get that back.
Chicago deserves safe streets, affordable living, strong communities, and leadership that puts the people first.
Let’s do it, Chicago. We deserve better.
