War crimes? which war crimes? These war crimes.

A general overview of war crimes committed in the Israel - Hamas conflict in Gaza so far.

We need accountability, security, and justice for all.

1. Violations by Israel 🇮🇱

a. Cutting off Water, Electricity, and Food:

- Violation: Deliberately depriving a civilian population of essential items, such as water, electricity, and food, is a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, specifically Article 54.

b. Forced Displacement:

- Violation: Forcibly displacing over 2 million people constitutes a grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention, specifically Article 147.

c. Killing Civilians, Journalists, UN Workers, Aid Workers, and Medics:

- Violation: Intentional killing of civilians, journalists, UN workers, aid workers, and medics during armed conflicts is a war crime under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, particularly under Article 8.

d. Attacking Medical and Educational Facilities:

- Violation: Attacking medical and educational facilities is a clear breach of the Geneva Conventions. Such acts are prohibited by Article 18 and Article 19 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

2. Violations by Hamas 🏴:

a. Terrorist Attack:

- Violation: Carrying out a terrorist attack targeting civilians violates international counter-terrorism conventions and agreements.

b. Kidnapping Civilians:

- Violation: Kidnapping civilians is a violation of their fundamental human rights as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, particularly Articles 3 and 9.

3. Accountability:

a. For violations by Israel:

The leaders, military commanders, and individuals responsible for ordering or carrying out the violations should be investigated, arrested, and prosecuted. The ICC can be involved if the state is unwilling or unable to prosecute.

b. For violations by Hamas:

Identifying and prosecuting the members of Hamas responsible for planning, coordinating, and funding the violations should be a priority for authorities. If a state is unwilling or unable to prosecute, the ICC can also become involved.

Accountability for war crimes often requires international cooperation, including evidence gathering, witness protection, and legal proceedings. The United Nations, international organizations, and human rights groups play a significant role in ensuring justice and accountability in such cases. Note that it is a slow process which is why it is important to only decimate correct information and prevent misinformation. Total war, deceit, and illegal assassinations prevent justice and the rule of law from thriving.
