The Knicks are full of winners. Look at what their roster did in college.
Brunson - 2 time NCAA champion
KAT - 38-1 at Kentucky
Josh Hart & Mikel Bridges - NCAA Champions
Alverado led GEORGIA TECH to an ACC championship.
WINNERS win!
“It hurts right now, it hurts a lot right now… I’m ultimately leaving UConn at a better place right now than where I started. I gave it everything I got… All I thought about was UConn basketball every single day.”
An emotional Alex Karaban after his last game for UConn.
This is my take… it’s pretty well said!
I thought they were prepared for every moment last night - they just didn’t execute.
Their competitive edge and focus was missing from the final media timeout in the first half. You have to sense that and bring it somehow / someway.
Here's what Jon Scheyer said back in late February about Duke occasionally losing by giving up big leads in the second half.📹🗣⬇️
Now, in light of what happened last night, my opinion is this: It's 100 percent on Scheyer to put forth more fire and emotion in these instances rather than looking like a deer in the headlights as the other team is charging back into the game.
Plain and simple, Dan Hurley defeated Jon Scheyer last night by employing his extreme passion to energize the UConn players and crowd. Hurley stomped his feet, pumped his fists, and lifted his head to scream at the top of his lungs, all to ensure his team stayed MAD enough to continue marching along in March Madness, and that's why Hurley still has a chance to win what would be his third national championship in the past four seasons.
Jon Scheyer is a great coach. Moving forward, though, he just needs to show a lot more energy in these type of moments. That's all it is.
Ashlon Jackson flipped the script in the Sweet 16 🔥
Flau'jae hit the trey in Jackson's face in the regular season, Jackson returned the favor with the tournament game-winner for Duke 🥶
A very accountable Isaiah Evans after Duke's close win over Siena:
"I think that first half falls on me."
Incredible awareness and maturity on his part.
Who thought it would be a good idea to put Isaiah Evans on the other teams best player?
He’s so soft & has reverted back to freshman Isaiah - gunning 3s and playing zero defense.
