Happy International Youth Day

Today, we celebrate the unity of purpose resilience and vision of young people everywhere. This year’s International Youth Day, under the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” recognizes the role of 1.9 billion young people in turning global ambitions into community-driven realities.

To the @RCCA_Youth who have played an amazing role in complementing climate action within our community, you are proof that, despite unequal access to resources and opportunities faced by Refugee-led organizations, young people can be unstoppable agents of change everywhere.

On this International Youth Day, we proudly reaffirm our pledge which are not limited to:

1. Planting 50,000 trees by 2030
2. Upholding gender equality in our team and
3. Advancing climate justice

These commitments are not just goals — they are who we are as RCCA.

Community health is our well-being! Every Saturday, we mobilize young people for Clean-up campaigns. This is a way to demonstrate community service. We work hand-in-hand with the Settlement Administration and partners to keep the #Tongogara #Refugee #Settlement clean.

Great and inspiring work. We have fenced 4 hectares for the establishment of a woodlot. 5000 gum tree seedlings have been secured from Forestry Commission while SEEDCO has 1000 more tree seedlings for the woodlot. Our work is cut out. Let's do it
