On Thursday I had an article in Esquire, a review in NPR, and was emailing an editor for something huge. That’s all further proof that if you keep working, all the years of rejections and ignored emails amount to absolutely nothing. Keep doing the thing. Always.

Reminder: Love a writer’s work? Tell them. Seriously. A review or an email or something on social media. Whatever works for you. Sure, some might be assholes, but most writers I know are insecure a lot of the time and hearing from readers brightens up their day.

Remember: It’s okay to buy more books. It’s okay to get more books from the library. It’s okay to buy books you won’t read for years. It’s okay to pile books everywhere. It’s okay to get different editions of the same book. Books are awesome. Do whatever makes you happy.
