I’m delighted to share Housing Finance Bank’s recognition for promoting gender equality in the workplace at the inaugural Empower Her Awards event where we received the Empower Her Award and the Woman of the Future Award.
These Awards mark a significant milestone in our journey toward diversity and inclusion after receiving the Gold Award at the @UNDPUganda Gender Equality Seal Programme last year and maintaining a substantial representation of women leaders within our management structures and decision-making processes which stands at 50% at Board and Executive Management levels, and the entire staff complement.
As a Bank, we remain fully committed to creating an environment where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed.

We recently received two Awards at the inaugural Empower Her Awards event, organized by Nation Media Group-Uganda, which honored organizations that have instituted structures and programs to promote gender equality in the workplace.
The Empower Her Award recognized the Bank’s substantial representation of women within its management structure and decision-making processes, with women leaders constituting 50% of the teams at both the Board and Executive Management levels, and the entire staff complement. Additionally, the Woman of the Future Award recognizes the Bank’s impactful initiatives that advance gender balance in the workplace.
These Awards are a significant step forward for the Bank’s diversity and inclusion agenda after winning the Gold Award on the UNDP Gender Equality Seal Programme last year.
