The PR agency hired by the Kenyan Government has introduced a new strategy to be used by influencers and podcasters.

They have discovered that many Kenyans are against President Ruto and could be motivated by their emotions to vote out the government in the next General Election.

So, what are they doing? The agency wants to create more fence-sitters ahead of the elections, with the aim of ensuring that the majority of Kenyans have no one to vote for, thereby increasing voter apathy.

The strategy is also aimed at encouraging Kenyans not to be “emotional,” so that they forget or overlook what critics describe as the government’s failures and controversial actions.

That is why you have seen many podcasters and influencers repeatedly telling Kenyans that they are “too emotional” and should stop making political decisions based on emotions.

The rallying call is expected to be: every leader is the same and will simply come to steal.

You have already seen some of your favourite influencers shouting that they are neither “Wantam” nor “Tutam.”

I was shot 3 times in the back outside Parliament on June 25, 2024. I was among those shot that day and I was the only one who survived. My name was even listed among those who had died. The media did not expect me to make it.

We went out together, my friends never came back. I carry them with me every day. May they rest in peace. 🙏

Over 2 years later I have refused to give up. I have lived through a severe spinal cord injury, chronic pain, sepsis, bladder stones and countless hospital admissions.

I am now asking for help with the costs that come with my recovery; Physiotherapy, medication, follow-up appointments and other medical expenses.

My biggest goal is to keep working on my recovery and regain my independence.

I also raised the continuing persecution of Dr @kizzabesigye1. He was abducted in Nairobi in November 2024, forcibly taken to Uganda and has remained in detention since.

President @KagutaMuseveni cannot wash his hands of an abduction that ended with his political opponent before a Ugandan military court and, nearly two years later, still in prison. African leaders must speak out against abduction and political persecution, and for respect for human rights and the rule of law.
