Yesterday the EP marked my service on my last day as a MEP. I've enjoyed every moment representing the people of Northern Ireland in Europe. I want to thank my friends, family, party colleagues and staff for their support over the years. It wouldn't have been possible without you
"I am not an Ulsterman but yesterday, the 1st. July, as I followed their amazing attack, I felt that I would rather be an Ulsterman than anything else in the world." (Cpt Wilfred Spender, 2 July 1916)
Today we remember the brave soldiers, sailors, airmen & support services of the Allied invasion forces who sacrificed their lives to give us the freedoms we have today. #DDay75
Best wishes to Theresa May for the future. Although I disagreed with her on the backstop, I believe that she was a politician of integrity who always believed that what she was doing was in the best interests of the United Kingdom.
First stops on Election Day are complete!
After voting in Bessbrook with my family this morning, it was great to make it to @McCooeysNewry for a quick pitstop.
Then to Abercorn Primary School in Banbridge for some last-minute pitches to voters on why to vote #Kennedy1 today!
Polling stations are open until 10pm tonight for #EUelections2019 This is an election the UK didn't want or need, but to ensure effective representation in the European Parliament today I'm voting for @DKennedy_UUP
I want to wish my friend and colleague @DKennedy_UUP the very best for tomorrow's election. Danny is the best candidate and will work tirelessly to ensure NI's voice continues to be heard in Brussels. For a sensible Brexit which secures NI's place in the UK, vote @DKennedy_UUP #1
Fantastic morning so far at the 2019 @balmoralshow! Great to attend an informative panel with the @DunbiaGroup before reaching out to lots of local employers and spectators!
Our team will be at the show throughout today. So if you spot our t-shirts, be sure to connect with us!
Delighted to get a visit today from Danny Kennedy, UUP candidate for the European Parliament. He was very interested in hearing the concerns around women and community education. @DKennedy_UUP, @RobinSwannUUP @uuponline
Delighted to join my colleague @McKeeUUP in Kilkeel today for a beneficial discussion with Alan McCulla, the CEO of Sea Source and the @anifpo
It is clear that the blue economy is not a 'legacy industry', but a vibrant one with its eyes on the future.

Met today with reps of Unite about Bombardier's decision to sell its aerostructures division. I call upon the Sec of State to support & defend the jobs & livelihoods of everyone affected. We as a party pledge ourselves to do whatever we can to defend skills, jobs & communities.

Lyra McKee was active in the campaign to extend GB libel reform to Northern Ireland to strengthen protection for free speech, especially for investigative journalists & academics. @mjrharris, who worked on that, has set up a donation page for her family.

It has been an enormous honour to represent Northern Ireland in the European Parliament for the last 30 years as the Ulster Unionist Party MEP. I sincerely hope I have represented you all with distinction. @uuponline
