3-3 draw with @FCKobenhavn academy in Audi Cup!
Amazing achievement for a group of players that just met each other this week...
P.S. GC Copenhagen had this blonde boy midfielder unbelievable! Amazing talent
@JOGA_SC
When I started coaching youth soccer in 2012, there was a team called @JOGA_SC led by @Kephern_Fuller, with amazing u9 players dominating every tournament in the DMV. In any serious football country, two of these boys would be part of the national team by now #paytoplay smh
Emergency Episode #338 🎙️
* Should Berhalter be fired?
* Who should take his place?
* Who or what is truly responsible?
This is Part 1 of 2 with @Kephern_Fuller joining me.

A post US fans should absorb into their mental model.
Mexico had what many also claimed "a golden generation".
I remember all the delusions from my beloved MX friends, media, and fans.
What did the generation accomplish? 👌 ∅
Perhaps US fans, media, etc ... are commencing with their educational moment?
Sincerely, I doubt it.
Any semblance of a respectable showing (result or otherwise) in the Brazil friendly or Copa America, and the mainstream won't learn a thing.

This culture - which already exists and has existed in the US for a long time - is not allowed.
This soccer demographic - the largest one in the States, btw - is passionate.
Passion is not allowed by the monolith.
Passion is a threat to status quo.

Pay-to-play in the US is at the level it is precisely because there is no pro/rel at the professional level.
Without an open pro pyramid, the pay-to-play business model is practically forced upon all [youth] clubs, as there's no alternative revenue mode or potential ROI without a first team competing in the pyramid.
Pay-to-play, and youth soccer in general, is relentlessly used as a scapegoat in American soccer in order to distract from the fact that the closed ecosystem is precisely the cause for those issues downstream.
Of note, Infantino mentions that the Italian club in his example was in the 6th division.
In other words, the club had a first team!
When you have a first team, there's an impetus to reduce - if not eliminate - pay-to-play.
Youth clubs in the States have no incentive to have a 1st team of their own.
Because, again, if the pyramid is closed, there's no economic opportunity there.
Worse still, in the off chance you build something of note, MLS will just come in and steal it from you.
Imagine thinking:
* The 94 World Cup (in the US) still has the record attendance.
* The 2026 WC is awarded to the US.
* The first club WC is awarded to the US.
* CONMEBOL Copa America's are hosted (plural) in the US.
* MLS attendance, from inception, has large numbers relative to 1st divisions around the world.
* USL attendance, has large numbers relative to 2nd divisions around the world. (EVEN THOUGH CLUBS HAVE ZERO CHANCE OF BEING PROMOTED - a incredibly TOXIC situation)
* The US has had -- for god knows how long -- among the largest, if not the largest, number of registered players.
* Youth soccer is a billion dollar industry.
* The US has millions of soccer-first households (principally comprised of hispanics/latinos and other 1st/2nd gen immigrants).
* Clubs from Europe, Mexico, and South America want to have friendlies here b/c stadiums get full and revenues are large.
* MLS is dying to capture the Mexican/American demo.
* Overseas clubs/leagues overseas want to have competitive fixtures here in the US.
Imagine knowing all this (there's way more, btw), and still concluding:
"Nah, tHe uS dOeSn'T hAvE a MaRkEtPlAcE fOr aN oPeN eCoSyStEm (aka pro/rel)"
How utterly brainwashed must one be?
@mhickey64@CoachDR7 This is the problem with US soccer. Its not about the kids, its about leagues and ultimately money.
All the bs stateside is ridiculous
Orlando City has their supporter section pretty much empty while Flamengo packed the rest of the stadium.
This match is being played in Orlando and the entire stadium is 🔴⚫️
How’s a club from 🇧 playing at “home” vs an American team in the 🇺🇸?
St. Louis Park, Joy Athletic, and St. Thomas' Bennett Kouame in Portugal right now with the Joga Project (@JOGA_SC) to take part in a trial with Portuguese club Estrela da Amadora. Their first team plays in the Portuguese first division, Liga Portugal.
I’m extremely honored to receive the Legends Award for Grassroots Coach of the Year! Thank you to the committee & other amazing recipients. 🙏🏾🏾😤⚽️
