This is fucking hilarious. Illinois has the highest property taxes in the country & the second highest gas tax in the country. Illinois also has the 8th highest combined state & local sales tax in the country. But keep telling us all that you give a fuck about the citizens of Ill
Sen. Cunningham lays it out: "So I think what we've done here with this bill today is establish a framework that would enable the Bears to build a stadium in the State of Illinois... this gives them property tax certainty... this is the exact same mechanic set up in NW Indiana."
๐จPOWERFUL: #Lions star Jack Campbell says that he kept a CBS Sports article that called him one of the worst picks in #NFL history.
Campbell signed a 4-year, $81 million contract extension after he was an All-Pro and Pro Bowler.
Hell of a motivation.
If Sorsby ends up playing, Iowa State and Iowa fans will lose their shit. After the DCI sting, the Cyclones lost half of their offensive starters in 2023; Iowa lost two-year starting DT Noah Shannon for his final season for making a $20 bet on Iowa WBB's first Final Four trip.
Per @BradBiggs, The Chicago #Bears brought in veteran EDGE A.J Epenesa for a workout ahead of OTAs.
Epenesa, 27, has been a part of the #Bills the last 6 seasons.
From '22-'24, he had 6+ sacks & 10 QBH per season.
Chicago politicians: โSure, build your dream stadiumโฆ but first, eat the $500M+ Soldier Field debt we ballooned after you already paid your share!โ ๐ญ Bears dropped their $200M 20+ years ago like adults. Illinois turned it into a forever-credit-card nightmare. This debt drama is the reason theyโre bolting for Arlington Heights or Hammondโno more โearlier speculationsโ needed. Whoโs the real gambler here? ๐ป๐ธ #BearsLeavingChicago #StadiumDebtFailโ
This Soldier Field debt saga is the actual underbelly behind the Bears potentially ghosting Chicago. Forget the polite โwe want a modern domeโ talk; the TikTok rant nailed the leverage play. Bears and NFL ponied up their ~$200M back in the early 2000s for that ugly spaceship reno. Government floated the rest on bonds + hotel taxes, Bears kept paying rent/tickets/concessions the whole time. Illinois? Refinanced like a dude dodging calls from collections, let interest compound, pandemic killed the hotel revenueโฆ now taxpayers are staring down $350M+ principal (closer to $500M+ with everything) through the 2030s.
Food fight: Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson fires back at Gov. JB Pritzker on WVON today.
โThe disconnect is we do come from different experiences. Iโm not a billionaire. Iโm not the heir to billions of dollarsโฆthe governor and I had different upbringings. He doesnโt know what itโs like to open up a refrigerator [and] ainโt no food in it.โ
Whatever you think of Pritzker, Johnson, or the Bears deal, this public escalation is bad for Chicagoans.
Ames is already upside down financially, they go away forever if this is the case. I know math is hard, there are 34 teams in B1G and SEC. Fact check, Ames does not have a baseball team.
Interesting quote from Iowa State's Jamie Pollard about the SEC and Big Ten: "I said it three years ago, let 'em break away. I would turn it around and say we should break away from them."
Ella Langley was born in a small rural town in Alabama
She grew up on a farm and started singing in a small Baptist church that began in a barn
She just publicly gave glory to God after setting a new record for the most ACM Awards won by any artist
God can use anyone
My grandfather said heโd never move into a retirement home.
He said, โToo expensiveโฆ and the food tastes like someone boiled sadness.โ
Instead, he checked into a beachfront hotel.
We asked, โGrandpa, isnโt that even more expensive?โ
He smiled and said, โNot really.
At the retirement home, Iโd pay $200 a day for cold meatloaf and no visitors.
But here? For $150 a day, I get ocean views, room service, fresh towels, a poolโฆ
โฆand suddenly all my grandkids remember I exist every weekend.โ
Then he leaned back in his chair and delivered the final line like a mob boss:
โAnd if I die in the hotel lobby, the manager will actually look disappointed.
But at the nursing home? They just call it Tuesday.โ
A US soldier shared a testimony from her time overseas.
She said her team used to laugh at her and call her "church girl" because she prayed before every mission. Some told her they did not want to hear her prayers. She prayed anyway.
Later, she was pulled off the road as punishment.
She said her team started getting hit by bombs every time she was not with them. Then her team leader came to her and asked her to come back.
He told her, "We keep getting hit and we need your protection. Whatever you're praying, it's working."
She said she went back out, and they were never hit again.
Maya Johnson brought home 300 people, and nobody from her group died.
This is a powerful reminder that prayer is not weak. This testimony shows that the one true God hears, protects, and still answers prayer.
๐๏ธ๐ PGA Championship winner, Aaron Rai on why he uses iron covers: โI grew up in very much a working-class family, and golf has always been a very expensive game. I started from the age of 4 years old, and my dad used to pay for the equipment, pay for my memberships, my entry fees. And it wasn't money that we really had, to be honest, but he'd always buy me the best clubs.
When I was about seven or eight years old, (my dad) bought me a set of Titleist 690 MBs, and they were like 800-1,000 pounds back then, just for a set of clubs for a kid. I cherished them. When we used to go out and practice, he used to clean every single groove afterward with a pin and with baby oil.
Although on the PGA Tour, we get given equipment, and we get given everything that we need, it's more out of principle. The value of not losing perspective of what I have and where I am. The covers are going to stay, I'm sorry."
Spencer Lee after teching Knox (and gets a gold medal):
"This is what you get. This is what you get, I guess. Big medal. Olympic journeys begin. We gotta do better there too. That was a good tournament. I don't plan ever on coming back. Thanks but no thanks. I gotta win some medals... Preferably only one color. I'm sick of the other color." ๐ฟ

This guy is calling a hospital on behalf of a new mom who was charged $1,847,392 because her baby was premature and needed to stay alive long enough to come home.
The itemized charges are dystopian. $37,464 for heel sticks on a premature infant, $58 every time a mother held her own baby skin-to-skin in the NICU, $312 for discharge teaching on how to sponge bathe a preemie and $27,590 for phototherapy lights. Thatโs before even getting into the NICU bed charges.
Our medical system is one of the most corrupt, exploitative and evil rackets in the world.
