He "led" us NOWHERE. Bruno and de gea were the leaders in that team. Maguire was "solid" i.e. he wasn't CONSTANTLY making mistakes, but as a defender that doesn't buy you loyalty.

Not all underdogs need backing.

In a low scoring sport like football a clean game at the back is infinitely more valuable than playing well followed by an error leading to a goal. Today Maguire made two of those.
