President Trump got a rousing reception this morning from the crowd at the Presidents Cup golf tournament near Chicago.
POTUS briefly addressed the audience after he was introduced.
.
"Somewhat typical for Ted Williams was his decision to give away the six tickets he was allotted for each of the three World Series games at Fenway Park.
He had his wife go to Kenmore Square before the games, and give the tickets to the first six GI`s she saw.
He felt no need to tell the press about this token of appreciation for the fans."

Ben Bradlee Jr.
"In the summer of 1956, while playing for the Red Sox, we got a rare day off, but I was told to take my uniform and go to Stockbridge, Massachusetts, to be photographed, along with Sam White and Jackie Jensen.
On arrival, we found the address and were greeted warmly by a small, slim man smoking a pipe and his name meant nothing to me.
We went over to a two-story wooden building with a studio on the second floor.
There we put on our uniforms and Jensen and I were told to sit side by side on a bench with my arm on Jensen’s shoulder while Jackie faked tying his shoelace.
It was explained to us that the Sarasota, Florida, locker room we used in spring training would be the background.
Sam was photographed separately.
It all took awhile and was a little confusing.
The following year, there we were, right in the middle of the cover for the 'Saturday Evening Post' magazine issue dated March 2, 1957.
If you’ll look closely, you’ll see we are wearing street shoes, not spikes.
The cover was titled:
“The Rookie.”
The man’s name turned out to be Norman Rockwell."
Frank Sullivan, Red Sox pitcher from 1953-1960.
The painting features five members of the 1956 Red Sox who were also with the team in 1957 when the painting appeared on the cover of, "The Saturday Evening Post."
Outfielder Ted Williams, standing in the center of the image.
Outfielder Jackie Jensen, tying his shoe and seated in front of Williams.
Pitcher Frank Sullivan, seated to the left of Jensen, the '8' of Sullivan's uniform number 18 is clearly seen.
Catcher Sammy White, seated at far left, wearing his catcher's mitt.
Infielder Billy Goodman, standing at far right, with his hand covering his mouth.
"He had Bing Crosby-type pipe, very wavy hair, receding chin.
I knew he was somebody special, because nobody smoked in that place."
The mystery man was Norman Rockwell and he came to Pittsfield High in search of model “Scotty” Safford.
The lanky 18-year-old was the model Rockwell needed for his painting:
“The Rookie.”
Features all Boston players, except player at far left, a stand-in whom Rockwell referred to simply as:
“John J. Anonymous."
This painting sold for $22,565,000 in 2014. "The Rookie"

John Tortorella on the Gaudreau's:
"I saw Guy came in and bull shit with the coaching staff. Holiday's is a difficult time for the family, period, right? Guy and I have been talking about getting our families together. Terrific to see him."
Very classy to honor them last night
The business community is giddy with excitement about the @realDonaldTrump administration. I am hearing this from everyone, including from people who didn’t vote for Trump.
Business confidence is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Business leaders are becoming more confident about the country and the economy. This means they will be making more investments in our future which will drive the economy and the stock market, reducing the cost of capital and bolstering confidence further, catalyzing more investment and more growth in a self-reinforcing, virtuous cycle.
Merger and acquisition activity is about to explode as there are an enormous number of deals that have been deferred pending a more favorable regulatory environment for transactions. M&A will drive efficiency, greater profitability and growth. It will also enable the return of capital to investors who will seek to redeploy their profits and proceeds in new investment opportunities.
The DOGE and deregulation will drive government efficiency and make America a vastly better and lower-risk place to do business efficiently and effectively.
I am also hearing about non-US companies that are desperate to immediately create a presence on U.S. soil. They are frightened to be locked out of the most important economy in the world. They will build factories and make new investments here to avoid the risk of tariffs and because they don’t have a better place to invest capital.
China’s economy is in trouble. Europe’s is a mess. The U.S. has now become by far the best country for investment.
Growth is about to explode.
This piece of mine is a little dated now but it's a good summation of Mr. Frosty's below-average career as a seat-warmer in Congress.

A thousand cheers vs. one heckle.
Fragile.
Weak.
Embarrassing.
The news here isn't that she was heckled. The news is we've produced a culture that celebrates weakness and victimhood.
There is absolutely an argument to be made that tonight is the biggest Big East home game in Providence College history. The Friars have never won the conference regular season title. The Big East is Villanova’s until someone takes it from them.
8 ET. The Dunk.
High. Level.
