@reformparty_uk@SuellaBraverman It’s hard going to be “reform” if it’s the same tired old Tory faces is it? They will all be vying for top jobs and only care about their careers.
@NodrogSame39425@GaiusLatine@Crowe_JE@robert_lyman@Gu5tav8 Tithing is uncommon and more linked to evangelical churches. Even then it isn’t mandatory. Most parish churches rely on voluntary donations. Where I think the central church authorities could do more is reducing the parish share burden (payment for the vicar).
@NodrogSame39425@robert_lyman@Gu5tav8 Respectfully I don’t think you quite understand the challenges of running a church. They get no central funding and parishioners have to raise the money for everything. It’s not just churches affected by things like this it’s heritage crafts who maintain them as well.
@NatChurchTrust Sadly our MP’s sat on their hands and did nothing allowing this to happen. Many of us wrote to our MP’s last time around and got nothing back.
@NatChurchTrust This is a disaster. The NCT should be calling for the reinstatement of the old scheme without the cap. Bills for maintenance now up 20% and only big capital projects stand a chance of getting funding after jumping through hoops and competing. Another threat to heritage crafts too
@Bill_Bowkett@GBNEWS Disaster for those working in endangered heritage crafts now that VAT on maintenance can’t be reclaimed. It’s perverse that it’s being framed as a win by the press.
@Hettiewaynthrop@LD_Sceptics The parishioners should write to the chancellor and threaten to withdraw their parish giving of the carbon offsets nonsense is enforced.
@toadmeister Parishioners should write to the chancellor and threaten to withdraw their parish giving. The fact the chancellor thought LPG was better than natural gas shows how deranged his judgement is. How does he think LPG gets to the building? On a gas guzzling tanker that’s how.
@NetZeroWatch This is insane. If you read the report they were being pushed into LPG as a second best to ASHP. LPG comes on a gas guzzling tanker. They’ve also ignored the fact that boilers can be hydrogen ready. Greenwashing by an utterly loony chancellor. Parishioners should refuse to pay.
