Não sou muito de textos de despedida, mas a este apetece-me.

Quando o Sporting o foi buscar ao Famalicão em 2020, houve gente a torcer o nariz. Um miúdo que tinha corrido mal em Inglaterra, num verão em que não havia dinheiro para nada. Marcou 23 golos nessa época, ganhou a Bola de Prata e fomos campeões ao fim de 19 anos. Acabou-se a discussão.

Ficaram seis épocas, 239 jogos e 97 golos. Três campeonatos, uma Taça, duas Taças da Liga, uma Supertaça. Mas não é pelos números que me lembro dele. É por aquela coisa chata de aparecer sempre nos jogos em que estávamos a sofrer, cortar para dentro e resolver como se fosse a coisa mais simples do mundo. Houve épocas em que jogou lesionado meio ano e ninguém deu por isso.

E depois há o cântico. Começou meio a brincar, aquilo do pote de oiro que veio de Vidago, e acabou a ser cantado a sério por Alvalade inteira. Não é toda a gente que consegue transformar o próprio nome em canção. Ele conseguiu, e essa parte não vai em nenhuma transferência.

Agora vai para a Arábia. Podia fingir que preferia outro desfecho, e é verdade que preferia, mas trabalhou seis anos para ter direito a escolher o que quer da vida dele. Quem deu o que ele deu ao clube não tem de justificar nada a ninguém.
