Great coaching is an art rooted in timing—knowing when to push, how far to progress, and when someone is ready to be challenged further. It’s no coincidence that much of what we know about skill acquisition was developed by studying the world’s best coaches and how they consistently achieve better results.
At its core, coaching isn’t just about teaching a skill; it’s about creating an environment where athletes can learn, adapt, and grow at the right pace.
In our curriculum, we dedicate an entire chapter to skill acquisition, breaking down how to methodically progress and challenge hitters in training environments to maximize development. It’s not just theory—it’s a roadmap for results.
Dustin Werthem (‘26, FL) had this opposite field double today. Catches it deep but the hands/barrel work tight and inside the baseball to find barrel. #PGMainEvent@Florida_PG
Michael Faucher Jr. (‘26, FL) threw two strong innings. Simple operation he repeats well. Up to 83 w/ the FB and showed strong feel for his mid 70s breaker (~2600) that has a ton of upside. #PGMainEvent@Florida_PG
Michael Faucher Jr. (26 FL) w/ 3 up & 3 Ks in his first inning of work. Projectable frame with an athletic operation & arm speed. Lived 82-84 getting whiffs with the heater & flashed breaker w/ spin north of ~2600rpm. #PGMainEvent@Florida_PG@PG_Uncommitted
Simple philosophy:
If you want to play better on the baseball or softball field, then move better in your training
If you want to move better, then train better global movement patterns
Baseball flows sharpens MOVEMENT flow and ATHLETICISM!
Let’s Flow‼️
Closed off basketball sticks to teach the body to brace up and compress the ball. Teaching posture with the chest and head over the plate. Proper spacing is essential.
HOW we create force is crucial. Training to move fast but stop (deceleration) efficiently. Taking the ground away, the middle is the driver of rotation. Training the system to move fast so we can access speed. As always, we need speed to get into the baseball.
“Average bat speed in the game in the big leagues is roughly 70 miles an hour. We often see high school and college players coming into the facility that have bat speeds way higher than our minor league guys, our big league guys…to be a good hitter, we have to compress the cork of the ball”

Learning to get barrel out front but staying through the ball through the big part of the field
Do damage through center field - get barrel on plane early and stay in the zone a long time
