I’ve never had such a hard time trying to spend just about $600. My local Sam’s had this gazebo on sale but were out of stock. Called all around and not one Sam’s Club would honor the price. How is this possible??? @SamsClub I want to spend the money but Sam’s won’t allow me.
I am extremely disappointed with this entire experience. The problems began when I attempted to order this item through the Youngstown store and continued all the way through being offered a used replacement in Tarentum. There is simply no reasonable explanation for how such a straightforward transaction turned into days of frustration and more than two hours spent on the phone.
What concerns me most is the complete lack of customer service and accountability throughout this process. The response from the Youngstown store manager was dismissive and disrespectful, and I was shocked by the treatment my mother-in-law received when she was prepared to purchase the model that was available in that store. A situation that could have been resolved in minutes was instead allowed to escalate unnecessarily.
I work in sales myself, and the handling of this issue has made me seriously question Sam's Club as a company. My employer is significantly smaller than Sam's Club, yet we would have resolved a problem like this within hours, not days. It is difficult to understand how one of the largest retailers in the world can struggle so badly with a simple customer transaction.
What is especially frustrating is that a reasonable solution was available. The item located in Butler, PA could have been offered to me along with a sincere apology for the inconvenience. A small discount, Sam's Cash, or another goodwill gesture would have demonstrated that Sam's values its customers. Instead, I was offered a used item for $500 after attempting to purchase a new item for approximately $800. Presenting that as a resolution is both unreasonable and insulting.
The corporate customer service experience was equally disappointing. Reaching a live representative took far too long, and it often felt as though no one was actually listening or interested in solving the problem. Customer service should be focused on helping customers, not creating additional obstacles.
As a result of this experience, I have already shared my concerns with family members, friends, and organizations we support through school athletics and church activities. Up until now, I had a positive relationship with Sam's Club, but this experience has seriously damaged that trust.
I encourage Sam's Club to take a hard look at its customer service practices, management accountability, and escalation procedures. No customer spending hundreds of dollars should have to endure this level of frustration to complete a simple purchase.
This entire situation was avoidable, and the fact that it was allowed to reach this point is disappointing.
@SamsClub I located the item 990321565 but they wouldn’t honor the price. I ordered it and went to pick up today and now I’m told the pickup is canceled. This is a mess and total BS. I’m on the phone with customer service which is basically telling me all the info I already know.
@JeremyClarkson I’m watching reruns of Top Gear and it’s the Reliant Robin episode. Did you actually wreck on a live news report twice? Thanks in advance. I miss watching the three of you.
@SouthwestAir you’re welcome for all the flights I’ve taken with you. I simply ask for some help using my own travel funds to pay for my kids travel for a church related camp and you just shut me down. I would’ve expected a bit more from a company your size. @united@Delta
@zyn_usa I saw the box on the front porch and wondered what my wife had ordered. Zyn you have gone way beyond what I expected when you said to be expecting a gift in the mail. Blown away!!! Can’t wait to see you in Miami
@JeremyClarkson@MrJamesMay@RichardHammond I’ve been rewatching #topgear with my kids (3)showing them what the real OG crew was about. They were in belly laughs and can’t wait to watch more. I told them you guys were done this year. They asked why, they look like best friends.
