Andrew Weaver @AJWVictoriaBC running as the @VoteCentreBC candidate for Oak Bay-Gordon Head isn’t the consequential vote splitting tactic that a lot of BC Conservative supporters think it is. He won the riding big in 2017 when he was @BCGreens leader, while leading the party to its best electoral result. Since he retired before the 2020 election, the greens have been a non-factor, finishing 3rd in what was a 20-point victory for the NDP in the riding in 2024. With Weaver in the race, the NDP losing this seat, whether through a B.C. Conservative victory, or an Andrew Weaver victory, seems much more likely.

As someone who I believe is the best leader in the green party’s history by many metrics, what do you make of Emily Lowan and the tone that she’s setting for the party moving forward? She’s had vocal admiration for Zohran Mamdani of New York who has pledged many socialist policies if elected as its mayor. Is this is a promising left-wing populist who will drive voter turnout, or a culture warrior who isn’t likely to capture the imagination of voters?

Very convenient that you left out the fact that the worst recession since the great depression happened in 2008! Except 7 years after, the Harper government balanced the books 😁 5 years after the pandemic of which you would certainly excuse the Liberals' deficits for, they are about to post a deficit closer to $100 Billion, although I doubt they would have balanced a single budget in this decade even without covid 💀 Glad to see you look at things in a bipartisan non-tribal way :)

Utterly terrible on every file so far.

Here are the files that he managed under Trudeau:

Immigration: Over 1 million people came into Canada in 2023 and 2024 (Housing bubble had already popped at this point, cost of living crisis rapidly developing)

Housing: Decrease in home ownership rate, plummeting home prices only after sharp increases and high interest rates which discouraged potential buyers

@MarcNixon24 This is the mentality that took BC from a $6 billion surplus in late 2022 to a $11 billion deficit in the current budget. Purely a refusal to make money.
