@politicalmath It's amusing that you find Trump being an asshole "funny as hell," but when anyone to your left is an asshole you take it as leftists wanting you dead.
@ramit My best friend’s mother died in January. Her husband (my friend’s father) spoke at the funeral about how amazing she was to him financially because she only bought used clothes and wore the same stuff over and over.
I don’t want that to be how I’m remembered/praised…
It’s hard to imagine a greater irony: a celebration of the American Founding—whose entire purpose was rejecting kings, personality cults, and leader worship—being transformed into a vanity project for one man. The Founders fought a war to escape this kind of politics.
@politicalmath I’m left of center and would vote for Talarico over Paxton and for Collins over Platner. I had hope early on that Platner had made dumb decisions and moved on, but now it seems he has major character issues and has no business being a Senator.
It's been a long week, but after much prayer, I've decided to endorse Ken Paxton from the pulpit this Sunday. Is he a criminal, a liar and a cheat? Yes, but he has found Jesus. Meanwhile, Talarico is a bit too fond of vegetables for my liking🙏🇺🇸
@osucowboytc I'm seriously wondering if American evangelical Christians would vote for Satan if he ran on an anti-abortion, traditional family/gender roles platform.
You know, I’ve come to believe the best coping mechanism is a solid hobby. Your interests have this beautiful way of always nursing you back to joy. Whether it’s reading, writing, playing a sport, or whatever lights you up.
Find that thing, pour real time into it, and let it be the thing you can always count on to guide you back home.
During my son's rec soccer season in 2023, I overheard one of the dads complaining about "how hard it is to afford anything these days," and a few sentences later he started bragging about the new truck he had just purchased.
Twice during the Biden presidency, I sat in a luxury suite lounge on a cruise ship where people who paid five figures to go on 2+ week vacations were whining about how bad the economy is and how badly they were struggling.
@ECaliberSeven 2024 was R+1.5 Pres and R+2.7 Generic ballot. If it ends up just D+7 that’s a whopping 8.5-10 swing towards Dems meaning a bunch of Cook’s Lean-R and Likely R could flip ESPECIALLY with solid fundraising and campaigning by the Ds in these races.
@HopliteCrimson@RCPolling Realclearpolitics had Trump beating Harris in their polling averages of every swing state except Wisconsin and Michigan (and even those 2 they had Harris up a measly half a point).
