@dominos ad: We will tip YOU $3 to “deliver your own pizza”!
Dominos Executives: We don’t want our drivers unionizing so we will pay you so we don’t have to pay them a decent wage.
Maybe I'm a little old fashioned, but I believe that when you talk about democracy, that means one person, one vote.
It does not mean billionaires buying elections.
It does not mean extreme gerrymandering.
It does not mean making it next to impossible to vote.
I don’t like paying higher gas prices either but it’s incredible that people will buy GOP outrage on gas that’s $4 instead of $3.50—but then excuse GOP for keeping the min wage at $7.25 instead of $15, insulin at $1200 instead of $35, & paid leave at 0 weeks instead of 12 weeks.
“Affluent liberals tend to be really good at showing up to the marches and talking about how they love equality,” says @johnnywharris. “But by their actions, what they’re actually saying is, yes, we believe in these ideals, just not in my backyard.” https://t.co/IURXUYnH03
there's always some story like "people are suffering because milk went up 5 cents" and never "we have to budget for milk because our rent went up $500, our health care is $10,000/year, my kids' college fund requires $100k and every house in our budget is now $100k more expensive"
It is absolutely wild that members of Congress are still allowed to buy and sell individual stock. It shouldn’t be legal.
We’ve introduced legislation to end the practice, but as one can imagine it’s a very uphill battle to pass.
This shouldn’t even be controversial though!
I find it interesting that for my Republican colleagues, when it comes to tax breaks for the rich and corporations — that's okay. But when you demand that we invest in the working families of this country, well, suddenly the sky is falling!
I am a little tired of that hypocrisy.
To meet the climate crisis, we must put millions of new electric vehicles on America’s roads. It's time to build public charging infrastructure powered by clean energy and make it available in all parts of this country.
These Republicans who are defensively rage-tweeting “But you’re wrong! I worked my way to pay through college!!” don’t realize they sound like folks who speak of the days when Hershey bars were 5¢ at the general store.
