We don't have the power to stop God's plan, even by our disobedience.
But we do miss out on so many blessings that could be ours if we would just obey COMPLETELY, IMMEDIATELY, and INTENTIONALLY.

This is the definitive rendition of our National Anthem. Whitney Houston didn’t just sing it—she made us feel it. Patriotism. Pride. Purpose.
A moment that reminded us why we love this country.
Happy Birthday, America. 🇺🇸
I was surprised how many people were unaware of the connection between King Saul and Esther. It is a crucial connection to understanding Esther, and even more importantly, knowing the heart of God.

I can't tell you how many times people have asked why God was willing to kill whole people groups.
He never did without first displaying incredible patience and hope.

A good reminder from our study of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther, that our peace is not tied to our prosperity but to God's promises.

Repentance is far more than saying you're sorry.
True repentance turns from our sin.
It involves action, not just words.
Hear more in our sermon this week on the relationship between Esther, Ezra, and Nehemiah.

I expect pushback on this because we've hammered our kids with "peer pressure" for decades. The real pressure is the war between the spirit & the flesh.
If we want to please God more than our peers, we'll stand firm.

II Timothy 3:16-17 is a familiar passage, but have you ever stopped to think through all it says Scripture is?

This sermon proved to be a really good one for the week we had here at Creekside. The horrific shooting in Muscatine has connections to our church, and this was a good reminder that we sometimes suffer for other's sins.
This week we studied Mordecai, but we got far more out of it than most Sunday School lessons I was taught as a kid. We found the cross of Christ, and that's what we ought to go to Scripture to find.

Activist: "Your cows are putting carbon into the atmosphere."
Farmer: "Where did they get it?"
Activist: "What?"
Farmer: "The carbon. Where did the cow get it before it put it anywhere."
Activist: "From... eating?"
Farmer: "From eating grass. And where did the grass get it."
Activist: "The soil?"
Farmer: "The air. The grass pulled it out of the air last spring. The cow ate the grass. The cow breathed some of it back out. It went back into the air it came from."
Activist: "But it's still going into the atmosphere."
Farmer: "It's going back. There's a difference between a thing going somewhere and a thing going back. You've described a circle and you're frightened of it."
Activist: "Then just don't have the cow."
Farmer: "The grass still dies in autumn. It rots where it falls. The carbon goes back into the air either way, just without anyone getting fed in the middle."
Activist: "It's not that simple."
Farmer: "It's grass, cow, breath, grass. Or it's grass, rot, air, grass. Same circle, fewer dinners. If that's complicated for you I'd stay away from the water cycle. That one's got clouds in it."
