There's absolutely no way Rory is hitting it 320+ all carry with a persimmon driver (.70 COR), D6 swing weight, steel shaft capped at 43 inches (Rory plays a 45 5/8), a balata ball with 80 compression that spins at around 5,000 rpm––unless he has a gale force, near hurricane level at this back.
I don't care how much working out with weights and flexibility training he does; it just doesn't happen with that equipment.
@thwacknicklaus@buckthegolfer That Titleist PT headcover. Coolest headcover ever made. I used to have one for my PT17 and I left it on a driving range some 22 years ago. To this day, I still think about it.
I’m looking at your swing from the front and I’m reminded to ask you about this swing. This woman moves her head drastically backwards on the downswing as if to try and gain more power by hitting more upwards to the ball.
This can’t be right or proper, right? It looks like she would lose power and control of the drive?
You really have to kill it all. The problem is that it's a weed and you can injure it with herbicides, but you can't really eradicate it.
Not only is the turf stubborn, but it's hard to maintain at fairway length. It takes work.
The only reason why I think Riviera uses it (Torrey Pines, also) is because you can play on it year round and barring a fire or natural disaster, it will survive.
If I had a chance to be a member at The Riv, I would do it, but I would think twice that the traditional game of golf would be thrown out the window.
- You can't chip on it, you have severe difficulty doing 15 to 40 yard pitch shots
- You can't do any bump and runs.
- Your distance to pins on approaches will be longer due to little or no rollout on drives.
- Forget about going for the green if your ball is nestled in the rough because that ball won't advance more than 100 yards.
Yeah, the kikuyu is nasty stuff for rough. It's like hacking out of barbed wire fused with superglued cabbage. Your back hurts after a round if you're not careful.
Why they never went to bent grass, I'll never understand. The course would be perfect to have Augusta style rough because it's a course of angles when attacking the greens.
No rough with bent grass would actually make it harder because the ball would roll into places that would be very difficult for recovery.
Also, the kikuyu is super spongy and soft in the fairways, which is unsettling when you first play on it.
@bemil@JumeirahRory69 Someone's going to get an ass-kicking!
Take a beating like a man and headache with the humiliation.
Breaking 100 there is damn near impossible!!
@GhostPandaStorm@jamierkennedy You can see why Trump wants to take over the place. Full scale invasion to play golf every hour of the day! lol.
Someday, he will call the country, 'Trump'. haha.
@jamierkennedy That's absolutely insane. Wow.
Well, at least when Trump gets his wishes to take over the country, he will be able to play golf for 20 hours a day. lol.
You just want a classic look in a blade and Mizuno makes the best looking and feeling. Best looking because they believe in the minimalist look.
Muira's are garbage shit anyways. They feel awful and perform even worse. Kinda like a Srixon that are even worse than Muira's if you can believe that!
Here's how your hands should move during your takeaway in order to achieve a square club face!
👇👇👇
Now, IF you are someone who rolls the face open, PERHAPS you need to FEEL the movement that I'm doing that is closing the face... & vice versa if you close it & need it more square
And yes, depends on grip type... I'm very much aware of this

Yes, Bel-Air Country Club is less stuffy, pompous, and pretentious than Riviera or LACC, but the quality of the course and the creativity of the layout puts it a distant 3rd when comparing the big 3 in LA.
In fact, I'd put Hillcrest over Bel-Air CC for the overall quality of a golf course.
Don't get me wrong, Bel-Air is an exceptional course that I would rate highly for over quality, but I guess it goes to show you that LA can take on any major city for excellent golf courses. Take that NYC metropolitan area, Monterey, and Philly!!!
@Tonysmarkettips@AdamSchefter@tyschmit Why is he talking about the Bears being the Indiana Bears when the Russini story is so much more important and valuable?!!
@hannahbggg@MidwestGolfJake 6 swing weights (at D8 to D2)?! Wow. Didn’t you feel like you were swinging a sledge hammer? That added weight alone would have made me feel very uncomfortable.
I just wouldn’t have tolerated that weight change. Wow.
