It’s tummy-o’clock and Wangalla is making her feelings known.
She was rescued as a days-old newborn, so we feed her a specialist milk formula on demand. Over time, she’ll transition to hand-fed bottles of milk on a schedule – every three hours, day and night. We suspect that, then as now, she’ll chivvy the Keepers along if they’re even a minute late, and she’ll make sure to watch over and inspect the milk-making process too!
You can adopt Wangalla today and help provide the milk, round-the-clock care and expert support she needs to grow strong and be ready for the wild: https://t.co/loS0hJV6JZ
TINY HOUSE OVERLOAD: Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is furiously building more shelters for homeless drug addicts so FIFA World Cup fans won't have to see the human suffering on the streets.
But now the Interbay hood is in for a potential rude awakening.
Bayside Enhanced Shelter run by Everyone Deserves Housing is dropping 75 Pallet Shelters into this community. The Low Income Housing Institute's Interbay Village is just a few blocks away.
Both locations all claim to have support services on-site. But if LIHI's operation is any indication, this latest village could turn into a major crime magnet and drug den. 🧵👇

Kaikai just turned one.
She's our youngest orphan elephant at our Kaluku Neonate Unit in Tsavo – and still learning a lot about her wild world.
The first year of an orphan's life is the hardest. Up to 24 litres of milk a day, every three hours, day and night – round-the-clock Keeper care for years. Kaikai has another decade of that road ahead before she's ready to return to the wild.

NEW: Former Marine fights off four armed teens during attempted robbery, credits his Marine training; all four suspects behind bars
The former Marine, Jheyco Borda, who successfully fought off four teenagers who tried to rob him at gunpoint, credited his Marine training for the outcome.
“Once a Marine, always a Marine,” Borda stated. “I’m feeling grateful, still here safe with my family.”
Borda also said that the parents should be held accountable since the teens are minors.
Borda received help from his brother, who helped overpower the teens and hold them down until Prince George’s County police arrived.
All four teenagers were taken into custody and remain in jail.
A mother moose had crossed the highway, but one of her newborn twin calves couldn't make it over the median barrier. As traffic began to back up and people grew anxious to move on, a driver stepped in to help. He lifted the calf over the median and carried it to where its mother was waiting, safely reuniting them 💗✨
Today would have been Daphne Sheldrick's 92nd birthday. My mother never set out to be a titan of conservation. She began the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to continue my late father’s vision, guided by a love for all wild creatures and a desire to make a better world for them. She weathered so many challenges in her time, but remained unwaveringly true to herself and her beliefs.
Building success on success, never straying from this mission, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has grown into the far-reaching, multi-faceted conservation organisation we are today. I know Daphne and David would be so proud of all we have achieved.
It has been eight years since Daphne left us, but she remains in the forefront of our minds. She was an unassuming woman who achieved so much just by pursuing her passion for animals and the natural world.
Daphne always said, “You reap what you sow” — and my goodness, what has been sown over the years.
– Angela Sheldrick
🦆👮TO THE RESCUE: When 11 ducklings fell into a storm drain and got separated from their mother, NYPD officers jumped into action to save them, hopping into the storm drain and carrying out the ducklings one by one. "The NYPD protects and serves all New Yorkers, even those with beaks!" the department said.
🇺🇸 NYC, May 31, 2026: A 23 year old Jewish woman sent CAM footage of her assault on a subway train.
Around 2:15 PM, a woman told her she could “smell the babies” she had eaten and yelled that “Jews eat babies” before choking her, throwing her to the ground, and beating her.
Melia is a mother of two now.
We rescued her in 2009 from Tsavo East – just in time, before lions got to her. She was feisty from the get go, a good sign indicating this one-year-old had fight in her to live.
It took years – Nursery, reintegration, slow steps into independence but today she lives wild in Tsavo, with her son Milo born in 2022 and her newborn daughter Moon. Two calves, one wild family.
Melia’s story was made possible by our adopters and donors, whose continued support is helping orphans on that same road to the wild.

NEW: $45 million worth of cocaine seized after an underground tunnel between Mexico and San Diego, CA was discovered under a Buy 4 Less store.
Investigators say they surveilled the store for months after noticing how little customer foot traffic it had.
Authorities found a nearly 2000-foot-long tunnel that was 55 feet deep and 4.5 feet high with electricity and ventilation.
2270 pounds of coke was seized from the store, and four people were arrested.
Gregorio Epifanio Hernandez Lopez, 29, Jose Jimenez, 32, Antonio Cortez, 18, and Brandon Escalante Sandoval, 26, were arrested.
They all face a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $10 million fine.
"They thought they saw the light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, what they saw were our lights and sirens," said U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon.
The View's Sunny Hostin set a new standard for blind partisan rage this week. After declaring Democrat Graham Planter "a liar, a racist, an antisemite...a homophobe," she then declared that she still supports him over a moderate Republican woman. https://t.co/q7bnT9OiBq

A lot can change in a month.
When Toto arrived at our Ithumba Reintegration Unit on 20 April, he was overwhelmed. He ran to his Keepers when the older orphans crowded round and stuck close for days. His Keepers knew this about him – Toto doesn't like change much. So two trusted Keepers, Sammy and Lekoli, stayed on at Ithumba to help him settle.
It worked. By the end of the month, he was the one leading the group home. Most evenings now, it's Toto out in front, walking the herd back to the stockades for the night.
Hands up if you remember Toto's rescue?
WOW 🚨 Florida Rep María Elvira Salazar exposes California Rep Maxine Waters took multiple trips to Cuba to visit Fidel Castro
“Madam Waters, for decades, you traveled to Cuba dozens of times to visit Fidel Castro personally, whom you consider your friend”
“Socialism up close within the Democratic Party”
“Madam Waters knew that the Cuban jails were full of political prisoners”
I researched and verified this is all true
Waters has visited Cuba multiple times and personally met Fidel Castro
Maxine Waters organized and led the first of several CBC delegations to Cuba.
- February 1999: Key trip where the delegation met President Fidel Castro, Cuban officials, dissidents, independent journalists, and US Interests Section staff. They donated medical supplies.
January 2000: Another Cuba trip
Waters has long advocated lifting the US embargo on Cuba. She wrote letters to Castro
Maxine Waters wouldn’t publicly condemned the Cuban regime’s human rights violations
