Few things make me happier than seeing my activity sheets being put to use. Brilliant school librarian @Mrs_Bongi used this one as her first book club activity so her students could get to know each other better. Just wonderful.
Tonight someone sent me a very nasty note, someone who is afraid of what poetry can do. But nothing will ever quiet my reason for being: to help even one person through the darkness that has tried to kill me, the darkness in which I gave my word.
I struggle with body dysmorphia. Even though I'm 140 lbs lighter than I used to be, I typically can't tell a difference when I look at photos of myself or see myself in the mirror.
But I just saw this pic that my wife snapped of me yesterday, and for the first time in a long time I can tell I've lost some weight. May not seem like a big deal, but it kinda is for me.
