At our 2025 Spotlight on Success award ceremony this month, over 90 students were given medals for their success in subjects including mathematics, science, and English & Spanish language arts.

Through their history classes, Jaguars learn about the cultural connections between different periods of time from ancient civilizations to today. Our 6th Graders recently finished projects demonstrating their knowledge of Ancient Sumer, the earliest known civilization on Earth!

Preschool students create lasting memories while exploring their community! Our youngest Jaguars recently got a tour of a Stockton fire station, where they learned how firefighters protect local neighborhoods. Field trips make learning feel relevant and enjoyable for everyone!

We are going to miss Assistant Principal Danette Bungalon next school year! Before summer break, Mrs. Bungalon demonstrated poi spinning and performed a hula dance for the Jaguars. We wish her the best as she prepares to be Assistant Principal for the @DRDolphins! #JaguarPride

Our staff had a wonderful time sharing a welcoming multicultural space with families this past school year. We celebrated the end of a fantastic spring semester with our Dual Language Potluck, which included Aztec dancing performances for all ages! #DualLanguageProgram #TBT

Our Dual Language students love spending time with their Reading Buddies! This morning, Mrs. Perisho's and Mrs. Lozoya's classes enjoyed Spanish-language books together. These Jaguars are well on their way to becoming bilingual readers! #BilingualLearning #DualLanguage

Jaguars know how to make a healthy and delicious dinner! Today, students with our After School Education and Safety Program learned how to chop onions and peppers, crack eggs, and mix ingredients with fried rice. #CulinaryLessons #AfterSchoolProgram

When you build something, you are using math! Last week, Mrs. Gonzales' 1st Graders created shapes out of gum drops and toothpicks. These students are getting a head start on geometry, which will help them when they start learning advanced math. #MathLessons #ThrowbackThursday

Literacy and education are powerful tools, and we offer them here at John R. Williams! Our library features fiction, nonfiction and poetry in English and Spanish, so every student can find a writer who speaks to them. #SchoolLibraryMonth

What does it take to make an object spin? This morning, students got firsthand experience with the ways math and physics can cause rotation. Our visitor from Bricks 4 Kidz showed these 1st Graders just how creative they can get with a motor, a battery and LEGOs! #PhysicsLesson

Before Spring Break, our 5th Graders helped their 2nd Grade Reading Buddies create animal report presentations. Students have developed positive and productive relationships this year, and we look forward to seeing even more amazing teamwork in the weeks ahead! #ReadingBuddies

Jaguar families were invited to meet many famous figures in history! Our 3rd Graders dressed as iconic individuals of the past and present, from Jane Goodall to LeBron James. We appreciate all who supported our students today!

We are holding our first Book Fair since returning to in-person learning. Students and their families can stop by the library after school every day through this Friday to purchase books, and there will be additional family visiting time from 4:30 to 6 pm this Thursday, March 21!

This morning, Ms. Annen paid a visit to Ms. Lu's transitional kindergarten class to teach students about rhythm and synchronization. The skills they practiced will help them when they become eligible for our band, strings and choir classes!

We shine a Spotlight on Success every year! Last night, our staff gave medals to the student scholars who have achieved exemplary academic success in English and Spanish language arts, math and science. Four students also spoke about why academic success is important.
