Selective expansion of cardiac macrophage subtypes reveals nuanced roles https://t.co/Sb9eFP3hh2

Jeffery D. Molkentin & team @CincyChildrens's findings highlight the different contributions of tissue-resident versus monocyte-derived macrophages to cardiac health and disease.

In the image, an expanded population of tissue-resident macrophages (green) seek out necrotic cardiomyocytes (blue) in a dystrophic mouse model. #Fibrosis #CardiovascularDisease

I don’t often comment on policy, but this moment is too important.

Like many labs across the U.S., mine has trained undergrads, grad students & postdocs who now advance human health & our understanding of the natural world. (📸: My lab over the years.)
