@jamesp_robinson@PWarrior8418282 Sounds just like the laughable “land swaps” Russia is proposing in Ukraine. Some flattened wasteland at the border for major fortified cities and a beachhead west of the Dnieper River, perfect for restarting the invasion in a year.
@Racxhard@mubeitech Russia’s regular church attendance is a third of Ukraine, and a fifth of the United States. 15% of Russia’s population is Muslim, versus 1-2% for Ukraine and US. And certainly its leader is no Christian. I don’t know where Russia gets a reputation as a Christian…
@RS73448285@ZelenskyyUa Russia gained less territory in 2025 than 2024, and is on track for even less in 2026, with higher losses. While Ukraine’s domestic tech improves, in terms of EW, cruise and ballistic missiles, and interceptor development. Plus Gripen and Meteor early next year.
@johnshreffler0 It would take at least four years to capture the remainder of the Donbas, based on rate of advance on open ground. But Russia hasn’t taken a large city since Mariupol, and they needed to bomb much smaller and less fortified cities for months before advancing, so double that.
@makesense12345@prestonstew_ Ukraine is a peaceful democracy with competitive elections, versus a nuclear powered dictatorship with imperialistic goals. Ukraine ranks 7th in corruption in Europe, versus Russia 1st. The point is not so much the Donbas and Crimea, rather that Russia won’t stop there…
@caz_chi@MatejAlex182093@TheDarkFacts@ZelenskyyUa Both Zelensky and Johnson have explicitly denied this. Only untrustworthy scum sources from Russia have made that claim. The Istanbul proposal was trash regardless, and the Ukrainian constitution explicitly forbids the President from ceding territory.
@segunowo_1@ZelenskyyUa Zelensky has offered an energy ceasefire, a maritime shipping ceasefire, as well as a full unconditional ceasefire. Russia has refused all of these offers, and is therefore solely responsible for the war continuing. Why not ask Putin to embrace peace?
@d_yelisevich@alexsalvinews Those are both from 2024. The whole point is that this has been his position since March 2025, no one is saying that was his position before that.
@Kathleen_Tyson_@mazemoore There was no November 2021 peace proposal. There was an ultimatum in December 2021, demanding NATO equipment and training be banned from all countries in Eastern Europe, with no concessions proposed by Russia in return.
@Kohuoro@mazemoore@Laudetur_Iesus It wasn’t a coup, Parliament unanimously voted to oust the corrupt Yanukovych, who was documented to have stolen at least $37 billion, and perhaps as much as $100 billion. What type of coup involves a democratic vote? You’re probably a bot anyway…
@mazemoore@Laudetur_Iesus Yeah we should take Obama’s opinion on Russia super seriously when he famously spouted “The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back, because the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.” in 2012, implying it was ludicrous to see Russia as a geopolitical threat.
@mazemoore Joining NATO requires unanimous agreement from member states. Slovakia and Turkey would never let Ukraine join, as they are major trading partners with Russia. Neither Biden nor NATO as a whole ever extended a formal invite, before or after the war started. NATO was a pretext.
@DaniCHLZ@korchagin9@PrzemekShura Four years too late? Russia has significantly less territory now than it did at the time of the Istanbul meeting, and their progress in 2025 was slower than 2024, and 2026 is slower still. Ukraine now has numerous deep strike weapons. Everything is worse for Russia now.
@SirWinston85@M_Kherson@IAPonomarenko@grok The Javelins were sold to Ukraine, not given. Sweden gave 5000 single use AT4s, versus the 94 Javelin launchers. Artillery destroyed more armored vehicles than anti tank weapons in the early stages of the war, and drones have made anti tank weapons nearly obsolete.
@WarClandestine NATO was never a legitimate threat to Russia, as it’s a purely defensive alliance with voluntary membership. Even Putin himself doesn’t claim NATO as the cause of the war.
@C8Luna@agentinmoldova@NichtQ@xtrabenis@ShaunPinnerUA You utterly lack reading comprehension. It was the US administration that made unpausing aid conditional to incentivize Zelensky, it wasn’t Zelensky proposing that. You have it literally backwards who was making conditions.
@PoliTechRev@agentinmoldova@C8Luna@NichtQ@xtrabenis@ShaunPinnerUA Ukraine produces two thirds of its own military equipment. They spend 40% of their GDP on defense, over $80 billion per year. They just can’t compete with a country spending $200 billion without additional help, plus stuff they can’t domestically produce (jets and air defense).
@C8Luna@agentinmoldova@NichtQ@xtrabenis@ShaunPinnerUA Not true. Earlier in the war this was true, but since March 2025, Zelensky has been continuously offering a fully unconditional ceasefire along the current lines. Russia is the one asking conditions for a ceasefire (Ukraine gives up territory Russia can’t take militarily).
