6 years ago today Mill Farm, home of my beloved AFC Fylde hosted England Under 20's against their Italian counterparts. In this thread I'm going to look at every player that played that night for the Three Lions plus one from the Italian side who is now a big name for the Azzurri
For some reason, whilst gearing myself up for the World Cup I began to think of the team Yugoslavia could have fielded this summer had they not broken up in 1992. So, without further ado, here is the unofficial Yugoslav team/squad for the 2026 World Cup
4 Countries That Don't Exist Anymore That Have Played In The World Cup
1. Zaire (now Democratic Republic of the Congo)
The first Sub-Saharan African nation to qualify for the World Cup, playing in 1974.
They are most infamously remembered for Ilunga Mwepu, who bizarrely ran out of a wall to kick the ball away before a Brazilian free-kick was even taken. (I’m not joking)
2. East Germany (German Democratic Republic)
They qualified for their only World Cup in 1974. Their most famous moment was a stunning 1-0 group-stage victory over West Germany, before reunification in 1990.
3. Yugoslavia: A powerhouse in early tournaments (finishing 4th in 1930 and 1962), the nation dissolved in the 1990s.
The former team was broken up and eventually replaced by modern nations like Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
4. Soviet Union: A formidable force that reached the semi-finals in 1966.
Following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the region's football legacy was divided, primarily into the Russia and Ukraine national teams.

@bez3_bez think the mid 90's and late 00's-early 10's would be stronger but still some real quality in this side. I reckon they'd be last 16 minimum possibly quarters at this world cup.
@paulhtfp Very possibly Paul, Serbia also had some top players in the late 00's and early 2010's which would have complimented the likes of Modric,Perisic,Rakitic,Mandzukic, and co well.
