Things that make India sit among the best of the first world countries, are all mostly STEM coded :
nuclear power, nuclear weapons, space programmes, fighter jets, novel infrastructures (like the bridge between mountains in Kashmir), private medical care, digital infrastructure like UPI, IT and software services, metro systems and rail modernisation, large-scale solar parks, indigenous missile and UAV systems, pharmaceutical manufacturing and vaccine production, supercomputing clusters, automotive and EV engineering, etc.

Things that make India resemble a third world shit-hole are all mostly humanities coded :
law enforcement, corruption, public hygiene, bureaucratic inertia, judicial delays with case backlogs, traffic discipline, political clientelism, dynastic politics, civic sense in public spaces, safety norms, tribalism in politics, regulatory unpredictability, etc

So, who exactly are failing in their part of “critical thinking”? Who needs to take more accountability of their ideas and “theories”? Don’t let any humanities person guilt trip you into saying that you lack critical thinking just because you disagree with them. These people think that criticism equals critical thinking. Criticism of anything is easy - any Tom, Dick, and Harry can do it. If communism fails, you people still say that what got implemented is not true communism which is flawless. If a bridge collapses, unfortunately engineers don’t have the luxury of blaming reality for not being in tune with their ideas, like you do.

Erra Manzil Colony, SR Nagar, Himayat Nagar, Maredpally to name some were essentially peaceful middle class neighborhoods in Hyderabad. Mostly retired Govt employees who bought homes in these places for their quiet atmosphere.

Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, these neighborhoods had individual homes, green cover, decent roads.

Somewhere down the line these neighborhoods were made into mixed use zones. Basically till then what were strictly Residential zones with some small Kirana shops, saw commercial outlets springing up.

For commercial enterprises unable to afford the higher rents in business areas these places became a blessing. But a curse for the residents.

Where you Mostly had small shops, now you had larger commercial outlets. And traffic shot up.

Cars, bikes began to flood, shattering the peace. You had these trucks coming in and occupying half of the road.

The worst part was those driving here thought this as some expressway. Driving at full speed, honking , it literally became a nightmare for the residents to walk about.

You had the rather pitiful sight of elderly residents waiting to cross the roads in their own neighborhood. Because none of The maniacal bastards behind the wheel have the decency to slow down.

These Residential neighborhoods were not meant for commercial purpose, but then those greedy bastards at GHMC were more interested in the taxes and revenue.

And that has totally ruined them.
