@RutgersAltRoute A5: Next year, I will share the importance of spreading kindness and model what bullying can look like from day one. My hope is that this will work to address bullying before it even starts.

@RutgersAltRoute A5: I hope to keep learning and becoming better at recognizing the early signs of an HIB situation so that it can be prevented. #AltRtEd#standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A4: Being aware of this is not enough; teachers must be equipped with the right tools to identify when these things happen and how to tackle them. Moreover, they should be a step ahead and learn how to prevent them from happening in the first place. #AltRtEd#standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A3: Every year, teachers at my school are required to complete certain trainings. During these trainings, we are made aware of all the resources that the school has to offer and more. We are also made aware of HIB procedures and who to contact. #AltRtEd#standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A2: Rather than just talking about bullying, it is important to SHOW EXAMPLES of what bullying looks like and how others can help prevent it. Students may think that their actions are not bullying, which is why they need help to identify them. #AltRtEd#standuptobullying
@RutgersAltRoute A1: From the first day of school, I try to create a sense of community by having the students come up with classroom rules and explain their importance for having an inclusive community. It is key for students to hear and learn from each other. #AltRtEd @standuptobullying
@jeanrenoit @RutgersAltRoute Going to go ahead and start using the term "digital citizenship" when I talk about technology from now on. What a great term. #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute@Tolerance_org@NEAToday A6: We tend to send emails home when a student is struggling with something. However, it is just as important to send emails about their progress and growth! I will continue to send more of those. #AltRtEd#EdTech
@ELAWithMrLuzhak @RutgersAltRoute It's easy to do! You just take Google Slides or PPT and you can use different slides for different materials or subjects covered! You can also include announcements. Then, you just email it to the parents.
@RutgersAltRoute A4: I send newsletters every two weeks and constant emails about student challenges AND progress. I also post on Google Classroom (parents can see) and tutorials on how to use specific technology. This keeps parents very informed (even during remote learning). #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A3: My co-teacher and I plan everything together. We rely on Google Docs/Drive to share materials. My department also has a Whatsapp group to share ideas and resources. Facebook groups allow teachers from all over the world to share unique authentic materials! #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A2: Age of students played a role in tech use; while younger students learn quickly, there are technologies that can be tricky to learn. Sometimes, parents get frustrated because they need to help their kids with the technology and do not know how to do so. #AltRtEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A1: Flipgrid, Edpuzzle, and Quizlet resulted in high engagement because those platforms made it fun for students to review content while allowing me to provide ongoing feedback. I also had biweekly video chats with my students to have face-to-face time. #AltRtEd#EdTech
