The veil shall not merely tear. The counterfeit sky itself shall fall. What was mistaken for the boundary of reality will be exposed as a curtain. What was hidden beyond it will stand revealed. The story does not end in Eden restored. The end surpasses the beginning. The garden was the seed. The Kingdom is the harvest. The first creation pointed forward. The unveiled creation fulfills. When the false heavens pass away, reality itself shall appear, not diminished, not repaired, but completed. The last revelation is greater than the first paradise.
@WarrenDuff7@cinemaisdreamy Then call it something else like Wolfgang Peterson did with Troy. He didn't call it The Illiad, something like The Guantlet. The Odyssey should have the tone of Gladiator/300/Lord Of The Rings. It should be three movies just like Lord of the Rings
@pascaliito In the book Athena ages and disguises him to provide tactical advantage, maintain safety from the aggressive suitors, and allow for secret reconnaissance.
@MemeOfSteel_ Tickets for The Odyssey went on sale for IMax theaters a year ago and sold out the first two weekends when there was just a movie poster released. No teaser, no trailer. It will have a good second weekend too because of that.
@realfamilyman83@thatstarwarsgrl The ancient Greeks didnβt separate history from mythology like we do. Troyβs ruins proved the Trojan War setting was real. The Odyssey blends myth with the historical aftermathβreal places, peoples, and legend woven together.
@realfamilyman83@thatstarwarsgrl Nolan changed his character Arc by having him defy the gods hospitality laws which lead to the downfall rather than his own pride by telling Polyphemus his name which then Polyphemus prays to his god Poseidon to make Odysseus's journey home a harrowing one.
@TheRightMelissa Because tickets went on sale for IMax theaters a year ago and sold out the first two weekends when just a movie poster was released. No teaser, no trailer. It will have a good second weekend too because of that
@realfamilyman83@thatstarwarsgrl The only response I'm getting is "because it's a 3000 year old story"
True, a story that has lasted the test of time, 3000 years of it. Why change it now?!?!?!?
At least Snyderbros explained why the "Martha" and the ghost of Johnathan Kent scenes worked for them. Nolan asslickers can't explain why change the character traits of Odysseus, removing the dialog from the Cyclops scene, changing the plot to Odysseus defying the gods instead of his pride leading to the downfall of his men.
