A few weeks ago, we dedicated a family room at Journey House as Georgia’s Family Room. March 7th marked the one-year anniversary of Georgia’s passing, we know that even if she is not here with us that she’s still watching over us and is proud of the work that we continue to do.

And finding a landlord who will rent to persons with felony convictions is another mountain to climb. Through their tenacity and our support, they have moved from homelessness to housed.

We are trying to update the chairs we have in the office to chairs that are easier to sanitize to keep everyone in our office as healthy as possible. If you have a vinyl office chair or office chair made of a similar material that can be easily cleaned!

We have a strong need for 25-30 vinyl office chairs that can be easily wiped down or sanitized to keep our office space safe for all clients, volunteers, and staff members!

When we remove incarcerated parents from their children & don’t allow visits, calls, mail we are creating generational trauma. When we do not pay incarcerated individuals fair wages & overcharge for even basic necessities we are creating generational poverty.

According to statistics from Prison Policy Initiative, data taken from the 2010 census showed that 687 Indigenous people were incarcerated per a population of 100,000 compared to 495 white people incarcerated per a population of 100,000 in Missouri.
