Important Things To Remember When Playing Defense:
1️⃣ Stay Low & In Proper Defensive Stance
2️⃣ Hands Out/Hands Ready
3️⃣ TALK (If You're Not Talking, You're Not Playing Defense)
4️⃣ Proper Helpside Position On Weakside
5️⃣ Ball-You-Man (Always See The Ball & Your Man In Helpside D)
Had to say this because Twitter and other outlets would make you believe Black Men don’t care about anything or anybody! But it’s plenty of us out here WORKING FOR FREE to make our communities a better place and to help these kids out here. You should get to know us.🤷🏾♂️😂😂
People never talk about the positives of AAU and all the people we help. The kids we mentor, the sense of community, family and togetherness that is created by our organizations. This isn’t the narrative about black men most of the time. Our community is a great place to be!
I just wanna encourage every AAU coach, director, event operator, scout, and everyone else. We are part of something much larger than ourselves! Don’t let the win/lose record make you forget about that. If these kids weren’t with us this summer who knows what would happen!
I used to think that COMMUNICATION was key, until I realized COMPREHENSION is what matters!
You can communicate all you want to someone, but if they don't understand you, it won't reach them the way you need it to! 💯💯
Leadership starts at the top of course, but no team will be successful without players policing themselves and holding each other accountable on and off of the court!
Have you ever noticed some players play great in AAU ball and really stand out then go back to their high school team and hardly touch the ball or look like a shell of themselves? It almost looks like they can’t play.
Big congratulations to @Hollywood_tahj on scoring his 1,000th point tonight! Everyone come out next Tuesday against Oconee County to celebrate this accomplishment! Special to have two players reach this accomplishment in the same season! Go Dogs‼️
