Remind yourselves today, while scrolling: Most doom and naysayers you come across - look for checks and #s in their handles - are paid bots. Block, move on and keep the faith.
No doubt Trump + his allies are going to try to call the race early in their favor.
And if it doesn’t go their way, they will claim fraud (like they already have).
Our elections are secure—don’t let them distract you.
I'll straight up make a closing argument when shit opens and an opening statement when shit closes, 'cause I'm a rebel and I'll never be any good and whatnot.
Trump: “You have one of the best of all right here. David McCormick. Where is David? Is he around someplace?”
(Dave McCormick is running for office in Pennsylvania. Trump is in North Carolina)
What to expect:
- He will declare victory before all the votes are counted, like last time.
- At the same time, he will continue to push bogus narratives about the election being stolen from him.
- Elon and his propagandists will amplify it on this platform. They're pushing outrageous claims every day, many originating from Russia.
- His supporters will swarm voting precincts trying to intimidate election officials, delay the count, anything to overwhelm the process with chaos and cast doubt on the results.
- It will rain frivolous lawsuits as they try desperately to usurp the will of the people.
Your job:
- Remain resolute. Remain focused. Block the noise.
- Don't let them intimidate you or turn you away from casting your ballot. Your voice will and must be heard. Your vote MUST be counted.
Together, we will withstand what they throw at us.
Together, we will finally move beyond this ugly chapter in our history.
We are not going back.
The West Wing (1999 - 2006)
President Jed Bartlet often tops 'Best Fictional President' polls. Aaron Sorkin was responsible for pitching the lines, but it was Martin Sheen who consistently hit them out of the park.
'When the President stands, nobody sits.'
