Momentum continues to build behind Biff Poggi.
Current Michigan TE and team captain Marlin Klein said this week he believes Poggi should be the next head coach. Former TE Jake Butt made a strong case for Poggi as well.
Kirk Herbstreit praised Poggi’s leadership this week, adding that he's been “blown away” by how Poggi has handled this situation, "like a father figure". Herbstreit's son, Chase, is currently a QB on the roster.
Terry Hoffman, father of current U-M tight end Jalen Hoffman, recently shared this message:
"We strongly support Biff & want him to remain in the building. His leadership throughout this situation has been outstanding. He has communicated, consistently, & transparently with families, earning our trust and gratitude. We believe his presence is essential moving forward."
Now, former U-M QB Devin Gardner is also publicly backing Poggi.
"The best way forward for Michigan Football is to name Biff Poggi the 22nd head coach of the University of Michigan, not interim, Head Coach," Gardner wrote on Twitter.
