5 years ago at Obafemi Awolowo University, I applied for PUTME and through my sister, I was able to squat with some of her male friends in their hostel --- Angola Hostel to be precise...
A night before my exam, I and one of my supposed rommate, a 400lvl student of Engineering met this lady who also came for PUTME --- Mozambique Hostel, he started a conversation with her. I was speechless because what do I even want to say? I'm not even a student of the school yet.😂
Coincidentally, I met her again the next day at the CBT center and we talked about the usual things - how stressful the whole admission process was, the schools we wanted to get into....bla bla bla.
It was probably less than 20 minutes, but we connected before leaving. The night of that day, we met at my hostel and we exchanged names. She wrote her name and number on a piece of paper and gave it to me. I put it somewhere in my pocket and honestly thought that was the beginning of a “friendship.” 😂💔
Until I got back to the hostel and realized the paper was gone. I just accepted it and moved on because, at that point, I had bigger things to worry about than a STRANGER.😭
The Post-UTME result came out and I didn't make it. I tried again the following year and the same thing happened. Eventually, I got admission into another University --- Unilorin and started a different life.
Three years later, during my first week on campus, someone called my name at my Faculty. BOOM!!! It was her --- the girl from the Post-UTME. At first, I didn't even recognize her, but when she mentioned where we met, everything came back.
However, the strange thing wasn't that she remembered me. The strange thing was that she seemed to know me far more than someone who had only spoken to me for 20 minutes.
She knew about my admission struggles. She knew where I eventually got admitted. She knew things about me that I couldn't remember ever telling her... We never spoke!!!
I thought maybe she had searched for me online. Maybe she had seen my posts or somehow found my account.... I was legit crashing out on the spot.😂
Then she said something that confused me.
“I thought you were angry with me because I stopped replying.”
Stopped replying???? I never chatted with her. I never even had her number --- Remember I misplaced it..😭
I never even knew she had been trying to reach me. Then she showed me her phone... Lo and behold!!! There were conversations between her and someone saved with my name.
Apparently, the person had been talking to her for years. They had become friends. She had shared personal things with him, and at some point, she had even helped him financially (#45,000) because she believed she was helping the same person she met before her exam ------ ME!!!!!! 😭😭😂💔
That was when we both realized what had happened.
The paper I lost that day wasn't just picked up and ignored. Someone else found it and decided to become me.
Lomg story made short, I checked the number she has been chatting with. And And Lo and Behold, it was the supposed rommate I squatted with. 😭😭💔
It made more sense --- why he'll always reach out to me to check on me, ask me to update him on some things. I never knew he used it to impersonate me.
I wanted to take this up with the School authority but she told me not to worry --- She's a NEPO babyyyyy. As if that isn't enough. I forgot to collect her number that day again 😭😭... And since then, that's how we never met. I'm in my final years now and I never met her again in Unilorin.
Such is life, life is such. Anyways, TINUBU MUST GOOOOO!!!!!!
Theatre art student of university of Lagos narrates how he was ass@ulted by the men of Nigerian police today and recorded all their faces !!!! Can these people ever change ??💔💔💔
@LagosPoliceNG please look into this. We can’t keep doing this. This guy is a theater arts student and studying that course, you’d have props on you sometimes. They probably thought it was real money.
A former bastard lecturer of mine from Unilag who sexually harassed me in 100level, stole a kiss from me in his office, I was disgusted and walked out. He Waited till I was in 400 level to give me an F. I went to meet him to know how that happened because I was so sure I did better after getting an A in my project defense and he said he would change the result to a D only if he gave me his D.
He had his story published on BBC because they set him up with a woman who had a spy camera. When She went to his office, he made a very cold statement. He said “I pity fine girls like you because you are all vulnerable”.
He was jailed for a while. Dr Igbeneghu may you rot in hell.
