MTN BETS BIG ON SPAZA SHOPS
MTN South Africa has partnered with business incubator Wakanda and the United Nations Development Programme to digitalise township spaza shops.
The initiative, called DIME, was formally launched on 28 May 2026.
It aims to give spaza shop owners access to mobile payments, digital tools, and business training.
Around 150,000 spaza shops serve approximately 11.1 million South Africans, yet most still operate on a cash-only basis.

This is so heartbreaking - so many students who are excluded from educational institutions because their parents can't pay; students have to sleep in libraries; students don't have food or accommodation - and you have officials who steal millions - for their relatives; deceased; foreign nationals - and destroying a generation of children.
🚨 DO NOT TOUCH WHAT GIVES A MAN PEACE! ⚠️
See exactly what I was talking about? This whole situation was supposed to be so simple. They should have just left the man’s coffee machine alone! Now, he has gone completely scorched-earth—and honestly?
I don't blame him one bit.People need to understand that Warrant Officer Msandawana had already accepted his reality. He knew he was surrounded by corrupt hyenas. For the sake of his own sanity, he chose to keep his mouth shut and drink his coffee. But they just couldn't help themselves.
They stole his machine, and then—to rub salt into the wound—they had the absolute audacity to interrogate him for its disappearance!
Msandoskie looked at them and basically asked, “Are you guys absolutely sure you want to play this game?”He played it cool, waited for the polygraph results, and the second he passed with flying colours, the gloves came off: “Nou ek en julle gaan dieselfde kombers dra, manne! Don’t say I didn’t warn you!” 💀🔥
Since 2024, the man has been rolling up his sleeves and swinging mercilessly. Anyone who gets too close gets knocked out cold. Just yesterday, Reverend Dlangi had to step in and beg him to hold back certain explosive information.
They pushed a quiet man too far, created a monster, and now he’s tearing them apart piece by piece.I’m willing to bet General Senonzozo tried to quietly buy him a brand-new machine to make the problem go away, but Msandoskie probably threw it right back: “I want my old coffee machine, not this rubbish!”As a fellow coffee lover, I stand with him 100%. Never mess with a man's peace. Finish and klaar! ☕️💥 #MadlangaCommission #ProtectGeneralMkhwanazi
In addition, evidence indicating the commission of a criminal offence against seven individuals has been referred to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for possible prosecution on charges including fraud, theft, and money laundering. These referrals are not symbolic. They represent the SIU’s unwavering commitment to accountability, ensuring that those who abused power face the full weight of the law.
FOREIGN NATIONALS FUNDED WITHOUT APPROVAL
The investigation showed that seven students who received bursaries from the OTP were foreign nationals, with six of them funded on a merit basis as top achievers. However, the SIU found no approval to deviate from the bursary policy, which specifies that bursaries are for South African citizens residing in the Free State. This resulted in an expenditure of R576 734.48.
#SIUWorkingForYou| Mr Leonard Lekgetho, Acting Head Of the SIU, has commenced the press conference on Investigation Outcomes into the Free State Office of the Premier’s Awarding of Bursaries.
