🇺🇦 Ukraine appears to have struck the Slavyansk oil refinery in Slavyansk-na-Kubani, Krasnodar Krai, overnight. The site is not just another refinery fire. Located in southern Russia, it sits inside the fuel and logistics network supporting Russian operations toward occupied Crimea.

That makes it a highly valuable target.

As Ukraine increases pressure on Crimea’s bridges, ports, depots and supply routes, refineries feeding that theater become part of the same campaign: make the peninsula harder to fuel, harder to supply, and harder to hold.

Satellite imagery of the aftermath of the attack on the Balakhonikhinskaya Oil Pumping Station (OPS) in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

The images show that two buildings at the pumping station sustained significant damage as a result of the strike.

Consequences of the latest attack on the Tuapse Oil Refinery / tank farm:

All 4 tanks have been destroyed, each likely holding 20,000 m³—a loss of approximately 80,000 m³ of crude oil and petroleum products.

The hydrocracking and hydrotreating units were also hit: the former processes heavy fractions into diesel and gasoline components, while the latter removes impurities from the fuel. Damage to these units affects the depth of processing and product quality.

The pumping station, which had been damaged earlier, has been completely destroyed—disrupting internal pumping logistics.

Some of the tanks remain intact—the potential for further losses remains.

Overall, the damage is extensive and effective.

The consequences of a drone attack on the sanctions component of Russia - the tank farm of the Tuapse Refinery.

From the available high-quality satellite image, it can be concluded that a significant part of the tank farm has been damaged or destroyed.

It's worth noting that the territory of the refinery itself remained without visible damage. ❓

It's up to the specialized experts to analyze in detail what exactly was damaged or burned. However, even based on visual evidence, we can speak of large-scale infrastructure losses: pump stations, a railway oil loading ramp, as well as technological pipelines and fittings were affected.
This explains why the main focus is on the tank farm:

🔸this is a key storage and accumulation node

🔸this is a buffer for all the facility's logistics

🔸damage to the tanks and fittings has a strong secondary effect (fires, destruction of adjacent infrastructure)

In conclusion: even without direct hits to the processing facilities, such damage significantly limits the ability to receive, store, and ship oil and oil products, reducing the overall efficiency of the facility's operation.

Satellite footage shows the aftermath of yesterday’s drone strikes against Novorossiysk naval base as well and the Sheshkaris oil terminal. Viable burn damage is noted on the bow of the Admiral Makarov, while damage can also be spotted at multiple points of the oil terminal, including at the berth 1 and 2 and near the pipeline’s shutoff systems.
